Well, MLP has announced that they're renewing the show for a fourth season...

*groan* Incoming rant, but I really, really don't think that's how the title "princess" or "prince" works, even with how it's questionably used for Cadance and Blueblood, who are allegedly more akin to a duchess/duke respectively.
Twilight is the rulers' "niece"'s (that connection is still vague) husband's sister. I know it's a show, but look at it this way: if the title didn't wear off faster than that, the considerable majority of Europe and Australia and much of North and South America would have royal titles. Family trees expand exponentially you know!
The idea of a "princess coronation", unless you're becoming a queen or marrying an heir-apparent prince, makes little sense to me as well. It's not like she just overthrew a tyrannical government and the ceremony is being held by the formerly oppressed populace.
Frankly, Cadance and Shining Armor were hard enough for me to swallow, still are, particularly the former. Mini rant: Even ignoring questionable judgement of the slapped-on wings, they established in Hearts and Hooves Day that you can't just MAKE people fall in love with each other, so why the hay is everypony so COOL about her casting LOVE SPELL at a freakin' whim?! Isn't that a form of MIND CONTROL?! This is portrayed in a POSITIVE light?! Oh no! That couple was having an argument! So what? It's like she doesn't know why dating exists instead of going straight into marriage! Some aren't right for each other, you can't just pick two individuals at random! Ugh, at least Shining Armor is only TWO flavors of bad character (relationship and god mode), she's a huge number of sue flavors combined.
I'm DREADING this, to be honest, just as I was Cadance. "Give it a chance," they said. I did. It was just as bad as I predicted. I'm not perfectly accurate, I was nervous about the crystal ponies too, and they turned out to be a harmless, simple bunch of gradient-maned ponies with a weird thing for replacing all adjectives with the word "crystal", but that does surprisingly little to comfort me.
If Twilight is now being touted as objectively BETTER than the rest of the main cast, let alone everypony else, (and she's borderline already with the magic-can-do-anything stuff; she needs better defined limits, not status boosts), and gains wings to boot destroying the whole unicorn-earth pony-pegasus connection by simply having her become a unicorn ASCENDANT, I'm afraid they're having the Fonz water-skii over Jaws and into open orbit. Even if she gets that and plays it down, it would reek of false humility.
The only theory so far that gives me hope is if it's a one-time thing, and Twilight pulls an Arwen and chooses a mortal life with her friends and gives up the title and possibly the wings that somehow come with it.
Also, why would the title come with wings given Blueblood's lack of them? What, is it because he's a stallion? Yeah he's selfish and prissier than Rarity, but that would smell a bit sexist, wouldn't it?
Okay, rant over. I love MLP, I really do, but SHEESH do they make some horrible choices.

Well, if she WILL became a princess/alicorn than it shall explain the origins of Tia and Luna> I guess its a good thing!
And than there is probably gonna be an episode Dash teaching Twi the basics of flying and she is all like a tough trainer on her and Twi suffer because of it)

This season has been up and down with either being really good or terrible.
I honestly am fearing Keep Calm and Flutter on....but then I heard about this episode and I have more concerns for it...also its only going to be in one part *wth*....so Im not sure what to think anymore...
I think it will be a one time thing...where Twilight has to choose between princesshood and her friends and we all know she will pick her friends and give up the Alicorn thing. I'd be shocked if she decided to keep her alicorn state.....which might hint the end of the series all together.....( I don't honestly know what else they could do aside from Celestia and Luna background stories)
Ive been odded out by why there were so little episodes. It either means funding is not there, or they are saving for something bigger (motion picture? The Simpsons did this as well with the two season pior and after the film to save for motion picture costs).

Here's how I bet this goes down without needing a fandom freak out or anything: Twi gets to become an alicorn since she's now a princess by virtue of being related to Cadance or something, yada yada plot happens, she ends up having to choose between uber powers + princesshood and continuing her normal life studying friendship in Ponyville. She naturally chooses to stay with her friends, her alicorn powers are a one time thing which the fandom should be totally cool with, and we probably get a great episode in the deal.

If some pony suddenly become an alicorn for whatever reason one got to wonder why they don't just turn every pony. Twilight as princess, why not, she's part of the royal family already and their family is pretty split all calling themselves with fancy titles. But please don't ruin Twilight!

I love it! It's as if FIM came out sometime in the 80s and I bought a folder at Target upon entering the Fourth Grade; then, years later, I go to the attic to find that old critical thinking essay I wrote about my hypothetical campaign to run for President by promising to reform and expand NAFTA (you know, for reference material) and I FIND THIS FOLDER WITH ALL THE SCHOOL STUFF MOM PACKED AWAY WHEN I MOVED OUT!

I really like the style in this comic. It reminds me of an older illustration style, which is only enhanced by the fact that it looks like it is on dirty slides.
Twilight flying by RD followed by the delayed reaction works really well, too. It helps to take the edge off the worries about the rumors.

Love the style, but for some reason I think of Fallout or Bioshock when I see this. Kinda looks like that style of retro look. I think its due to how the color appears faded in places.
