Description This was a offsite mattepainting challenge entry for that won first place. I was so surprised since I was too tired and was just doing this for the love of the art of Mattepainting.

Ironically, this is becoming one of my favorites...

Excellent piece, details, scenery and overall aesthetic is well done. My only suggestion would be to have the lava reflect a bit more on the surrounding rocks. Granted, a minor issue, but it would add much to this already great scene, I think.

What I like most are the little things, like the translucent effect at the tip of some chunks of ice or the bits of snow collecting on the church...That lava would be the best hangout spot in such a cold place too

Small hand paints, a huge time on photo-editing and manipulation. This is mostlly photo ref... did not have time to create 3D in 3 days... thanks for viewing..
