Rainflower carried on. “Then he wouldn’t be the ugly mess he is now.” The icy coldness in hismother’s voice made Stormkit feel sick. “He’d still be my handsome young warrior.”
Note; that quote was said before the one I used in the pic. I just wanted to put it in for the feels.
I've been wanted to draw this scene for ages! And I love how it came out. Apart from the background. Sorry it's so crap I done it so lazily XD The dens look so retarded :T
Now I think everyone can agree that at this point Rainflower was being heartless and selfish. I don't think anyone could like her when she done this?? It really hit me in the feels when I read how mean she was to Crookedkit, and how she was willing to give up her mate just so she could have things her way. Shellheart is also crying a bit because he still loved her.. it was really sad. Freaking Rainflower, she had a pretty name but was so cruel to her own kit.

Yeah, for me, it'd take a big apology to forgive her. But Crookedstar always loved her, so I imagine he'd forgive her if it meant she loved him back.. Even in StarClan. But I hope she sincerely regrets all those words she said.

I am honestly neutral on Rainflower, but bordered to dislike. She's definitely an awful mother. I did hear she apologized to him in StarClan, though, after he died!

Yeah, I just didn't like how she treated him! I mean, he's her kit. She could at least let him keep his name, not something that would remind him of his accident and the fact that his mother doesn't approve of him anymore. To be honest, she was a little immature. Just because her kit wasn't 'beautiful' any more she literally disowned him and couldn't handle it. :T That's were I don't like her.
I hope she did, he did deserve an apology. He always tried to impress her and still loved her <3

(LE GASP) Omg, then that means if Crookedstar kept his original name, then his daughter's son, Stormfur, would nearly have the same name! RANDOM COINCIDENCE IS RANDOM. I hate Rainflower, she stopped an amazing coincidence that could've possibly happen. (No but srsly, Rainflower is stupid. Imagine a human renaming their son or daughter CROOKED because his jaw was twisted!

Yeah, changing his name was over the top. That's where Shellheart decided to leave her as well. It was bad enough that she didn't want to associate with her kit anymore, but changing his name to something that would remind him of his scar was just terrible. :c

Yes, I agree. Even though she was so harsh to him, renaming him was probably the worst. It even ruined the relationship between her mate, but she didn't care in the end.

I hate Rainflower more than any other character in the Warriors universe.
I can't stand such abusive parenting. I felt like she had problems in the beginning of the book with just the way she spoke of Stormkit to Oakkit but turned out I was right. Rainflower has problems.

Yeah, she was always very concerned about the image her 'brave little warriors'. I didn't think much of it at first, but when Stormkit broke his jaw I realised that she was horrible. As soon as her kit became weak and 'imperfect' to her, she pretty much disowned him. She couldn't handle the fact that he was scarred for life, and she didn't want to. Just like when she said:
“The accident wasn’t my fault! I shouldn’t have to deal with it,” Rainflower spat. Stormkit’s chest tightened. A sob welled in his
throat.
