So, I've been harangued by my wonderful godsis BornAngelAuthor the entire time she's been on vacation to post this one, so here it is.

I'm helping write and illustrate a Doctor Who crossover fanfic, his companion being the main writer Hope Wilkins. This is a huge project, it has gone on over a few years, and is by this time chock full of characters, places, and ideas I hadn't known we could fit into it. And it's all in fun! Hope's wanted to write this kind of thing for years, and it challenges me to write in the voice of the Doctor. Mostly 10th, but for a good chunk of it 4th. If you guys want me to post more illustrations I will, but the full resolution of all the pictures will have to be withheld.

Anyway! After watching the Dark Crystal - me for the third time and Hope for the first time - both Hope and I realized that Jim Henson created Thra from the ground up as a planet, not an alternate reality. Meaning that it's one of the most justifiable crossovers we could have in the entire fanfic. I couldn't resist making a wallpaper on my own fruition, which meant making Jen and Kira! That was fun. And of course, putting Hope's character and her alien companion Star Song in the picture.

"The Doctor takes hope to the gorgeous planet of Thra - 'perfect vacation spot, if you like Australia', he says. He has everything planned, a picnic, meeting with the Queen of the Gelflings, perhaps even a dance or two. But he has come two Great Conjunctions of the Three Suns too late and finds them in the middle of Jen and Kira's trek to the Dark Castle. Hope finds him strangely hesitant on helping Jen and Kira, but the Doctor knows full well what is at stake if the destiny - and the fixed points in time - of the Gelflings are interfered with..."

Made in DAZ Studio, postworked in GIMP. This is actually my third time making the 10th Doctor, this latest being in Genesis 8 and looking more like his real self. Hey, it looks more similar than the Dreamland episode did.
