well, the texture over the whole piece (as katie said) isn't annoying, but to me, it makes the water seem sort of fakish.
but she is right, it does look much like a painting on canvas.
oils or acrylics preferably.
i love the way in all these shots you've managed to pull the rock into focus so much, but the water makes the biggest impact.
it looks like a map almost, of something ppl centuries ago would have drawn, that being their idea of what the whole world would have looked like.

rofl it was about 30 degrees c. But the wind was pretty cool. You're right, well... I blurred the water so I got a smoother texture which I thought would be much more pleasing than a load of noise. I think it was my scanner that fucked all the images up.

This looks just splendiferous.
Normally that texture [over the entire piece] would have annoyed me. But here it creates a 'cavas' feel.
Like it's been painted on, rather than being a photograph. Has a 'Mediterranean' feel to it that's very, very charming.
And the colours. God they're delicious. The blues just can't get any bluer, the greens no greener.
It's just so warm, so summery, and so enticing.
