Description
I am officially done with them and I couldn't be happier with the result...I do notice that the front shoe's coloring looks distorted because of the light source so please excuse that. :/
I also decided to scrap the helmet-on-the-tongue idea because I didn't want to take the chance of them possibly messing up. All is left to do is heat-set them and then they're ready to wear.
Apple Barrel paints mixed with Golden Mediums GAC-900 fabric painting medium.
total working time: a little under 20 hours.

Hello,
IΒ was wondering if you do commissions because these are incredible. If you do, I'd like to know what a pair like this would run. My email is mycaptjack@aol.com.
Thank you, LauraΒ

Beautiful. Β How do you heat treat the shoes? Β Is the GAC-900 mixed with all the paints, or painted on after? Β The bottle said to iron to set, how do you do it? Β You are pure magic!

The medium is mixed with all the paints. It said on my bottle to put any shirts or clothing pieces in the dryer for 30 minutes. But since it's on shoes, I just use a blow dryer for the same amount of time on each shoe.

Hello.
Are you in Canada and if you are not do you ship to Canada?
How much do you charge for the shoes?
I have been told that if I ware a women's size 7 in regular shoes that I should go a size smaller in Converse style sneakers.
Thank you in advance.

No, I am not located in Canada (I also have never shipped there).
I normally charge $350 and up for shoes likes these depending on the design.. I unfortunately am not taking any commissions for shoes due to some personal reasons but hopefully I can get back into it eventually. It is true that you would have had to go a size smaller, though. Thanks for checking these out.

Are they machine washable? Or dry clean? And what would happen if they were to get wet?

GeeFreak In reply to Loki-DWho [2014-12-27 00:41:53 +0000 UTC]
I've never washed my converse since I'm always careful with my shoes, especially ones I have painted. What I know of, dry-cleaning is out of the question when using the GAC mediums stuff. Nothing has happened to mine when they've gotten wet.

When you say " I don't do EXACT pairs to each other"Β do you mean like they will be different pictures of Loki, or, what?
π: 0 β©: 1
GeeFreak In reply to Loki-DWho [2014-12-23 19:41:09 +0000 UTC]
When I say that, I mean I don't make another pair like them. Once I finish a pair, that's the only pair that will look like that. No two pair of shoes are ever alike. One of a kind.

You have to get them custom made through me. Unless you know how to paint and can do them yourself.

So if I wanted to get a pair just like these ones how would I go about getting them through you? Are you on Etsy/have a website or would I pay you through deviantart?

I use paypal for all my transactions. Prices and everything gets determined after my clients tell me what they want. I don't do exact pairs to each other- I try to keep each pair unique so the ones posted are the only pair I'll ever make. Prices do run high, with the shoe buying and then the painting and shipping prices.

I didn't sell these as they were for practice but I would have charged $285 for the shoes and artwork alone. shipping depends on where it's going.

$250 for the shoes alone- I'm not familiar with the uk shipping prices. I DO know it's expensive to ship off a small box ($50) so I'm assuming it will cost quite a bit to ship them off.

sorry, just read down more and saw pricing. If ordered how long would it take you to send them out, I am sure it is a mega amount of work to hand paint these so beautifly

I went to my local UPS store yesterday and they said shipping would be over $100. I'm going to try to ask my regular post office.

how much would shipping be? (uk)

GeeFreak In reply to Zarliar [2014-05-12 17:25:41 +0000 UTC]
I usually charge $280 and up for the shoes alone. Shipping varies depending on where they're going. Since you said the UK, I'm not familiar with my post office prices for there- I think I saw that UK shipping was around $50 and up but I could be wrong.

this is stunning...i have NO idea how you got them so close to one another... like...symmetrical almost. how do you heat set them by the way?Β
π: 0 β©: 1
GeeFreak In reply to Whovian909 [2014-01-29 23:35:46 +0000 UTC]
i got them closely symmetrical by tracing over the other painted shoe then just transferring that to the other. I just heat-set them using the highest temp on a blowdryer.

Yes, I made the shoes myself and I charge $250 for a pair like this. I don't blame you for getting into Loki- great choice.

Yup, of course Thor is handsome too, but he doesn't have that "little something" Loki have *^* !
I wanted a tattoo of Loki after xD...my boyfriend was like: "...you should wait, you know you're impulsive".
Anyways, I hope to see more of your work *_* ! I think I will start save money for a pair...(seriously, Marvel should hire you to make those lol)

Something like this would be $250, shipping is a little higher these days, so it might be a bit more.
