Description I named this Coriolis effect after the first creation I made with it and because it reminded me of that effect, it is not the name of an actual effect in Paint.NET.

Although the tutorial was written for Paint.NET since that is the software that I use, I am fairly certain this is transportable to Photoshop and possibly even GIMP.

For a life sample, please see: Coriolis

Feedback, questions, comments, post below. If you use it to make something that you upload to dA, I'd appreciate a link as well.

Cheers,

Ghost

hey thx for the tutorial. i've been experimenting with the coriolis effect and i found this! the twisted layer was glowing and it makes a rune-like appearance in front of the background!

Running a little late on my comments

I use PdN exclusively for all my manipulations as well, it's such a wonderful and easy to use program. Glad you enjoy the tutorial, hope it works for you and let me know if there's anything else you need a tutorial on.

They certainly do, I have Apophysis myself (just hadn't had time to play with it), I think this is just a tad easier since it doesn't involve any calculations by the user ... hurray for lazy art
