BEWARE OF SEMI-LONG RANT.
Augh. I know a lot of people who hate Twilight, especially now that it's gaining popularity. Unfortunately, this is also the reason why more and more people like Twilight. My question is: WHY?!
For one, THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE ALL FUCKING MARY SUES. Bella is so ridiculously clumsy that, rather than being an endearing character trait, it's a huuuuuge fault. Not only that, but EVERYONE. LOVES. HER. Now why is that? Especially considering the fact that, ummm, she's not supposed to be pretty? Not only that, but she can be such a bitch, too. And in Eclipse, she's downright horny. Pretty sickening, consider the one she wants to get it on with is dead. Damn necrophiliac...
Then there's Edward. He sucks at life, seriously. LOL 102-year-old virgin, anyone? Drama queen. Priss. Tries to be virtuous by refusing to have sex with Bella and PRETTY MUCH ATTEMPTING TO FREAKING RAPE HER AT THE END OF ECLIPSE. WATCHES HER SLEEP. Stalked Bella. And you know what? She didn't even care. She was actually FLATTERED that a potential murderer was following her around and staring at her through her window. Wow. No teenage girl can seriously be that trusting.
And then there's Jacob, who I was too lazy to draw. Two words: Fucking. Rapist.
Okay, so putting characters aside, let's talk about the plot. See the size of the book? Well, take a #2 pencil and admire it's size. Got it to memory? Well, if you chopped out all the bullshit and about 9/10 of Bella's thoughts focused on Edward, that's what the size of Twilight would be. As stated above, in the illustration, 298 pages in New Moon was wasted on the fucking "gaping hole" in Bella's chest. Errr, okay. But Jacob tried to help her! That was made null and void by the fact that she fucking left him to go with the guy who LEFT HER IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST AT LIKE MIDNIGHT.
Then there's Eclipse. Oh, Eclipse. Why oh why is Bella important enough to warrant a fucking VAMPIRE ARMY TO GO KILL HER? Seriously. And, oh look! She decides she loves BOTH Edward and Jacob (that whore!)~ Eeeyeah. Okay.
So yeah. I'm really far too lazy to rant more about how there's a lack of real plot and character depth. Yeah...

I've been a big wolf fanatic for years, so that, plus my curiosity getting the better of me as to why everyone was all over this series, drove me to read it. If it had more action and better writing, maybe I'd've enjoyed it more, but I guess we'll never know.
The series was ok, but it could have been a lot better. But the thing that stumps me more than anything: to get all obsessed over vampires because of it?!?! What on earth do those fangirls see in them? I guess that's one reason I'm having such a hard time finding a girlfriend nowadays*. My High school's only got about 200 students in it (Grades 9-12), and now that all the girls are obsessed with Twilight...
(Sarcastic) Sorry I'm not a bloodsucker ladies. My bad. I'll try to drink your blood next time so you'll like me.
*I realize that I left myself wide open for a joke. Ok, I know there's more than likely reasons other than that, but for my point's sake, just laugh to yourself quietly. It's too easy to make a "No, it's just you"crack at that anyway, so don't bother. Seriously, unless the guys are obsessed with vampires too, a LOT of guys are having trouble nowadays. My Friends and I came up with a theory...SMeyer learned to write after reading "My Immortal". Twilight is the 2nd worst fanfiction ever..."My Immortal" is and always will be #1. Tara Gliesbie, or however she spells her name, is SMeyer's hero XD

I agree with this partly. the comic was hilarious to me and i loved when you said Jacob was a fucking rapist. cuz he is. And i hated Eclipse anyway...especially the dreaded scene where Jacob's rapist character is revealed fully outside of a tent.
And Bella lets him SLEEP with her in a sleeping bag WITH EDWARD IN THE TENT?!!?! just bad.
But i do love Twilight...and New Moon...and Breaking Dawn. Just not Eclipse. Eclipse had the worst plot.
Edward could be seen as a stalker, but not a rapist. He married Bella before having sex with her, okay? And its not like he was jacking off while he watched her sleep.

What I liked most about the (two first) books was the way Meyer gets you inside Bella's feelings (and makes you suffer at certain points, specially in New Moon... or at least that's what happened to me xD). I must accept she did a quite good work with that "emo feelings" thing, hehe. Else, it's a pretty random, average (or worse that average *lol*) plot.
Btw, I haven't read Eclipse or Breaking Dawn, but.... 102-YEAR-OLD VIRGIN? EDWARD?? WTF! You gotta be kidding me... That's just so... "un-vampire-ish"! *ROFL*
I don't know if I'll ever read the last two (three?) books. I only will if someone lends them to me, hehe.

Just for curiosity, I looked for the "Worst Fanfic Ever" xD I couldn't stand the first chapter! I've got enough work trying to read correctly and fluently in English... but ThIs sHIt eEz jUzt uNrEeDabLe.
Oh, btw, don't think I hate/dislike Twilight. I just think its plot is so bleh. And I think I only finished (and liked) Twilight and read New Moon 'cause I'm a helpless romantic dummy. Give me romance, and I READ xD

I really liked the books, but I'm not one of those "OMGEDWARDLOL!111" people.
Of course they have their faults, and Breaking Dawn wasn't really that good.
I don't think all of the characters are mary-sues like some people say, pretty much just Bella. Ergh, she's so annoying. I think she started off well in Twilight, but around Eclipse I just got pissed.
It just really irks me when I see people whining about Twilight and all the fans that they hate.
I'm definately not saying you're one of these people; you seem to be logical about it.

If you actually concentrated on the book youd realise that Bella's character is unselfish kind and brave and thaatis why edward loves her and edward is caring, protective (flaw, meaning hes not perfect), funny and their in love what more do u want. So stop making fun and perhaps concentrate on what you read

I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I did concentrate and I perceived a whole different scenario from the books. Bella is selfish (because, really, she doesn't realize how much her actions affect her family and friends). She could hardly be considered kind (she doesn't seem to put her friends in very high regard after she begins to become friends with the Cullens), and her bravery comes from recklessness. Edward is indeed a stalker, not funny at all, and creepy.
Also, what I want is a good story with good characters.

I haven't seen the movie and don't really desire to do so. But, since my mother is a Twi-Mom, odds are she's gonna force me to watch it when it come out on video. At the flippin end of the month? It seems like the stupid movie was just in theatres!
Most of the time, we have to wait half-a-year for a video to go from "stop showing in theatres" to released to video. Stupid Twilight.

Alice's personality rocks! Jasper seemed a bit cuter in the first couple of books, but oh well.
(I'm nearly finished Breaking Dawn! It took me a whole day to read up to where I am. Finishing Eclipse and Breaking Dawn will take me Two and a half days. I'm seriously proud of myself.)
My Dad asked me yesterday who "that" was. He pointed at a picture of Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). I told him and then he was all, "Aw... Do you like him?" And I was all. "Pfft. No." And my eyes were on my Jackson/Jasper pictures. Lol.

Breaking Dawn is the fourth book. Eclipse is the third one. (Twilight first and New Moon second. Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn.)

But there really are characters that people genuinely like. That's what you're aiming for if you're a writer, isn't it? But the book isn't about SMeyer - it's about Bella, a fictional character. How would calling Bella a bitch make her feel worse (since she doesn't exist)?
Even if you meant SMeyer, there are other authors who nobody ever really calls a bitch. Steph's just one of the unlucky ones that everyone attacks.
