BEWARE OF SEMI-LONG RANT.
Augh. I know a lot of people who hate Twilight, especially now that it's gaining popularity. Unfortunately, this is also the reason why more and more people like Twilight. My question is: WHY?!
For one, THE MAIN CHARACTERS ARE ALL FUCKING MARY SUES. Bella is so ridiculously clumsy that, rather than being an endearing character trait, it's a huuuuuge fault. Not only that, but EVERYONE. LOVES. HER. Now why is that? Especially considering the fact that, ummm, she's not supposed to be pretty? Not only that, but she can be such a bitch, too. And in Eclipse, she's downright horny. Pretty sickening, consider the one she wants to get it on with is dead. Damn necrophiliac...
Then there's Edward. He sucks at life, seriously. LOL 102-year-old virgin, anyone? Drama queen. Priss. Tries to be virtuous by refusing to have sex with Bella and PRETTY MUCH ATTEMPTING TO FREAKING RAPE HER AT THE END OF ECLIPSE. WATCHES HER SLEEP. Stalked Bella. And you know what? She didn't even care. She was actually FLATTERED that a potential murderer was following her around and staring at her through her window. Wow. No teenage girl can seriously be that trusting.
And then there's Jacob, who I was too lazy to draw. Two words: Fucking. Rapist.
Okay, so putting characters aside, let's talk about the plot. See the size of the book? Well, take a #2 pencil and admire it's size. Got it to memory? Well, if you chopped out all the bullshit and about 9/10 of Bella's thoughts focused on Edward, that's what the size of Twilight would be. As stated above, in the illustration, 298 pages in New Moon was wasted on the fucking "gaping hole" in Bella's chest. Errr, okay. But Jacob tried to help her! That was made null and void by the fact that she fucking left him to go with the guy who LEFT HER IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST AT LIKE MIDNIGHT.
Then there's Eclipse. Oh, Eclipse. Why oh why is Bella important enough to warrant a fucking VAMPIRE ARMY TO GO KILL HER? Seriously. And, oh look! She decides she loves BOTH Edward and Jacob (that whore!)~ Eeeyeah. Okay.
So yeah. I'm really far too lazy to rant more about how there's a lack of real plot and character depth. Yeah...

i like twilight but i see what you mean, alot of new moon was crap and in breaking dawn the should have been a crazy fight instead of a diplomatic end. the volturi were all like "Oh alright then we'll go kill another guy, bye!" and left -.- and the whole bit with jacob was crap i almost skipped that part out because he was all like "oh bella fuck me because i'm living and i'm making your life a living nightmare because i'm being difficult" which was a lot of bullshit. i don't think the plot was as well thought out as it could have been and it was too focused on the characters.
If it was better written i probably would have cried when edward left her but it wasn't.
yeah some books make me cry, well being betrayed then crushed by a rock really does the trick, but then she lived so iw as happy

Actually, that's true. I don't know what it was I liked - I think it was just the story and the fact that it was pretty engaging (despite the fact that I disliked it XD)

I read the book in like an hour, while arguing with an obsessed fan girl that it sucked. Any book that you can do that with has a terrible plot. I probably would have burned the book if it was mine +facepalm+

Alright, I understand you don't like twilight and i agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if you hate it so much why did you read up to eclipce then go so far make a comic about it? and I know what you mean about that whole left in the forest thing and when she got all emo, i agree that was pretty dumb but think, if that didn't happen it would be another 298 pages of her going all lovey dovey over edward, and jake would never get any time in the book so the seiries would fall apart so... yeah... anyway sorry this was so long

Actually, if Jacob had never really been introduced into the series as a main character (like, if he still told Bella about the Cullens at La Push and was still there at the end of Twilight), and if it had all been written differently and with maybe a different plot, would the series have been all that bad?

Perhaps that's why I like Twilight so much. Because it's so surreal. I'm a romantic spaz at heart, and personally, I'd be a dork like Bella and fall for the vampire. Don't know that I'd do all the stupid shit she does, but whatever.

That's actually why I liked Twilight at first. Because I'm such a hopeless (and kind of pathetic XD) romantic that I would totally be glad to fall in love for a dangerous and somewhat creepy vampire. But, like you said, I don't think I'd do what she does. At the point when Edward revealed that he stalked Bella, I think I would have called the police or something.
The 'worst fanfic ever' was a very, very terrible Harry Potter fanfiction called 'My Immortal'. However, it has since been deleted, though someone's probably posted it up somewhere else XD

Oh wow... I thought I was going crazy, with all these people loving twilight and me not really understanding why. Glad I'm not the only one. I thought the movie was cute (the actors were really attractive :3 ) and the first book was ok, but honestly it should have been a stand alone book. I could barely get through new moon, and I don't plan on reading the rest.
