Description
I've been trying for years
To find the one thing that is me
A definition that fits no one else
A unique way to describe who I am
It's only when I stopped looking that I found it.
And now I can't escape it
I what I am, It's me
No other way to put it
****
I do some portraits from time to time, mainly for a magazine I shoot for (OTOT is it's name, and it's for marketing and advertising). This is Shoni Rivnai, one of the owners of an Advertising agency in Israel (Bauman Ber Rivnai). I wanted to take his picture in a surrounding to best tell who he is. Other than his day job, he is an accomplished artist and painter, so I asked to take his picture in his loft, where he paints. When I saw his own self portrait, he just finished, it was obvious to me what I should do. I love this one very much.

fantastic idea, i like it very much!
i like the blurry part of his hand & cigarette, to meake this is where the two "he's" connect - the real him and the painted him that is.

This is absolutly amazing!
I really like how the expresions are the same.
Was his expression your idea or his?
The idea of putting two art media's together like this......brilliant!

I love his smile; it's friendly and somehow sarcastic, too.
A great shot, and a great idea.

Really cool editorial shot and I like it but the blown cigarette is a bit distracting. Do you not work with studio lights?

Great portrait!
Did you asked him to pose like this or you captured him in that pose spontaneously?

did you use a flash? I would boost some contrast or something, and i dont really like his facial expression, but no matter what, its still goin right to the front page

This is good but, I fell that the tones in this are really flat. The colors and composition don't really jump out at me either. Just my opinion. I would have done something to warm it up a bit. Sorry if I offend you.

I really wish his head was angled just a little more counter-clockwise so it was aligned to the painting. But this is a fantastic photo, I love it!

Actually i think I notice what it is now. His hand and knee look out of proportion to the rest of him!

Great idea. But Im not sure about the hand and cigrette in forground. The flash hit it too stronlgy. I feel that the depth of field if you are to do this should be so that all of the real him is in focus. But thats just me

I adored the result, but something says me that it would be better that he, in contrast with his self-portrait, was with the fixed eyes in us, completing the two facets of the sensible artist and the businessman.

משהו נראה טיפה מוזר באיכות הצבעים...
אני לא הכי מבין בנושא אבל זה נראה כאילו צולם עם פלאש ישיר בצורה מסויימת או משהו...
