Just a little test animation to make sure all my pivot points were in place and that the symbols weren't set to "Loop".
Yep, I animated on the show, and we used a DIFFERENT program than Flash... but this is a test to see how I can achieve some of the build "tricks" in Flash.
Still have to add some masks and whatnot for the arms...

This was just Flash 8 I believe. Although any of the current Flash programs would be about the same!

Awesome, one of the animators of one of my favorite cartoons that doesn't even air in my country has a dA page!
Ruby Gloom must have been a fun show to animate for, I've noticed that a lot of detail went into the characters' facial expressions and body language.

It feels like there's a squash and stretch frame there somewhere when she blinks, but I think it's just the head moving that compliments it nicely. I like. What program did you use on the show if you don't mind me asking?

Oh that's a squash and stretch in there baby. It depends on the emotion I was trying to portray, but I used the same trick in the show occasionally.
We used ToonBoom Harmony. It's a lovely program, I miss it a bunch, but it's VERY expensive!

I knew my eyes weren't lying to me. Still, very nice subtlety on the stretch. Gotta love those little things that make your animation pop with life.

amazing simply amazing I've seen every episode of RG and still a fan of her's except I loved Misery, she had it all going on ^_^
it's awesome that you worked on the show it's like watching a half hour of pure gold, i'm surprised she didn't get more of a cult following like Atomic Betty, would have been nice to add some figurines of the RG crew to my collection ^_~ and yes I think Poe is to much of a whiner LOLjust kidding

Question, Are they still making Ruby Gloom episodes today?

Unfortunately, no. There were 40 episodes made, 2 seasons, and production was back to back. This was in 2005/2006, I think.
I am unaware of any industry plans to return to the property, but keep in mind I am a "little person" in the industry. The animators don't generally get to find out what show they will work on until non-disclosure agreements have been signed.
If they ever started making it again, I would definitely ask to return and animate on it! I always tell people that Nelvana is the company to petition, but so far there's been no rumours of a new season. It's too bad.

The thing i dont get that YTV, also put Ruby Gloom on the air in 2009 calling it Brand New, I dont watch YTV anymore im pretty sure they still run re-runs on Crunch. But thats cool you were a part of it ^^
