damn something bad happend and the only thing what happend is that the tears come out... sniffle...
no animation because there other sad emotes with animation allready, here fitted the static version a lot better.

Whilst your tears are much clearly than the original, I too would like to see this animated. Its not normally that I'd choose animated over static, but as stated above I think this one begs to have the water flowing out of the eyes. Perhaps even into a puddle?
Smooth work either way.

I don't think it needs animation. Your tears are clearer then the original one's and so is the expression - the fact that you made the eyes bigger and added tears to it makes it sadder.
They could just be a bit lighter and more spaced out from each other.

i gave your idea a try, the tears are more lighter now and i spaced them out from each other. i think it looks now much better because now you don't think this can be wings or somethingelse.

I think this emote begs for animation. On the current (old) one, tears look more like hands in the air (at least to me), and when I first saw yours, I thought tears were wings

i lighten the tears more, i hope it's more recognizably now.
maybe i fulfil your wish in an little story but not these for this project...
