Description
You usually see these mountain from far away, here they are really close up.I was shooting into the sun, when I looked around and saw the light behind me, jumped onto a big rock a few feet into the tideline to get wave motion with the mountains as a background.
This was 3 weeks ago, ever since I've been in bed with flu and a gland infection, but I'm healthy again and going for a 2 day shoot tomorrow

woooooow!
I love it when things like that happen ... well so long as I notice with time still left to get the shot.
So you must live pretty close to Gansbaai? If so I'm pretty jealous - I've considered visiting (from England) just to go shark diving there.

This is an excellent shot, the lighting is wonderful.
I think the composition could have been tweaked to eliminate the rock at the bottom though. Its a small distraction, but still.

You have a great environ from which to select superb shots, and then the ability to catch those shots grandly.... this is no exception.
I love the light from the mountains reflecting orangely off of the clouds right on or over them.

Always nice to see someone who doesn't worry about showing "over-exposed" water, because it visually works, even though it isn't part of the "photo with perfect histogram" club.
A fav my friend.

Wow - you just got an insta fave!
I love this picture so much, do you mind if I use it as a reference for a background? (I MIGHT use it, maybe I won't - it's awesome anyway XD)

The water doesn't even look like it was a long exposure. The water is so white that it looks like snow. This is a very interesting photo. I enjoy it very much.

Hmm.. the already broken waves are whitewashed, yet in the background there is a swell currently turning, yet on that same swell the curve is blurred...
I will guess 1/4 seconds, but it is a hard guess.

nice contrast between the foreground misty water and the mountains! that water looks much whiter than the usual waterscape waves i see around, is it in the wave itself or the exposure time?
