Description
He leant into her, his long nose once again almost in her hair. His breath was hot on her face. He inhaled, deeply. "You smell...like Eden," he crooned in her ear, "All exotic and so forbidden!"He almost nuzzled her(close, but not yet crossing his self imposed boundary) and his scent drifted into her nostrils. Hyssop. Myrrh. Lilac. He smelled expensive. Unobtainable. Like a fallen angel. Or more likely, one about to fall.....

This one is perfect. Exactly what I was trying to explain in my comment on 'Judge in black.' I'm a fan of detail- but can appreciate the artistic use of non-detailed areas. But, in my own mind- I think there should be a sort of gravitation toward each side- a sort of blending of it- and this one was done perfectly. You're amazing. Well done!

Thank you! I was leaning more towards a Che-Guevara kind of image with the other one, but I'm happily experimenting anyways. And I'm learning a lot as I go along, so that's good!

Thanks though. Your constructive comments are really, really appreciated.

I can certainly appreciate that. Frollo is a dark character, of course, and in the novels, he does a lot of shadow-camouflaging (hiding against walls covered in shadows). So, the lack of detail in the darkest area- I can relate that to that part of his character. I only give constructive criticism to those that ask for it- only because I know a lot of people REALLY can't take it. Haha. I'm glad you find it helpful at all.

Oh...and, I REALLY REALLY love the detail in the buckles, btw. I don't know why, but those two little details just fascinate me. LOL

Hehe, I so love how he sniffs her hair. During the party at Disneyland I kept sniffing Kara's hair while we were both in our Fresme costumes. She even counted how many times throughout the night. I think we were over 20, lol!

Mmmmmm Frollo. Moar Frollo. Always Moar Frollo!!!
Have you seen or heard anything from Little-Elfie/ Jokers Cellmate lately by the way? I miss her, though I think she must be busy with school.

ChristineFrollophile In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-10-29 16:16:29 +0000 UTC]
Even tho Frollo was not there this season, stupid decision with the character department, we still managed to have an absolute blast. Fresme and HoND love was spread throughout the park. And the villains, hehe, they were so cool, definite Frollo fans too. The Wicked Queen and Cruella made it clear they miss Frollo. Honest John was a hyper furball, definitely a Frollo fan and I swear, I still think he was one of the Frollo actors. Poor guy, he went from being a judge to being a fox. Frollo would scream out, "WITCHCRAFT!!!" LOL!
I left Hollie a comment, hopefully she's okay and just busy. Happens to us all at one point.

I can only hope he'll be there next year then ( sorry for the late reply btw, my life is...hectic in a thoroughly unpleasant way)
Well if Honest John is a really, really tall guy, you might just be spot one, because I was looking at those older pics in your gallery and dayum, the man pierces the sky. <3
(how does he see under the mask, I wonder though)

ChristineFrollophile In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-11-03 19:06:35 +0000 UTC]
Awww I can relate about hecticness. I was ready to scream at my work yesterday and run for the hills! So much crap being thrown at me at once.
Well, it was when I asked if Honest John had also been a Frollo actor, the answer I got was a sly grin and a "well, maybe..." Hmmm, lol! Oh, yeah, Frollo is very tall! I mean, I know I'm short, but he's even taller than a lot of guys that approach him. From looking closely at the mask it looks like the actor sees through the mesh material on the mouth. Tho, it looks like there's mesh material on the eyes too. Perhaps just for extra ventilation.

I spent a satisfactory day inside ( the weather failed to uphold its promise)scribbling away on one of my near finished Esmeralda's, which will go up tonight in honor of Christine's upcoming b-day ( shhh) I felt content and mellow, so yeah, you reckon he paid me a visit? ( no writing though, but I'll be gone for the next four/five days, so that kinda makes sense to me)
Yes, we will meet. Whether it be here or there, no matter the entourage I bring with me

*insert here all negative comments about Disney HoND, Disney Judge Frollo and "what if" Fresme stuff*
Ok, now positive comment:
I really like this comic-like style. I am quite sentimental about strong contrast, good use of ink and generaly this 70's,80's and 90's comic style - some memories about Jim Apparo's or B.Bolland's work are coming back.

"What if" Fresme stuff happens to be one of my reasons for getting out of bed in the morning. That, and a big house and a cute better half
Oh hun, I know you despise the good old judge, but you kind of have to see him by his own merit. Think of him as a distant relative of your Archdeacon. I happen to like mean, cranky older men. Minister Frollo fits the bill... ( and I get to implement Irons' facial features in that lovely face....best of both worlds really!!!)
I love black and white stuff. I promised myself to master some more techniques this year. Dunno about the mastering but I am having so much fun exploring!
Now if only PS and I could manage a healthy relationship...*sadsigh*

AleksDeSilesia In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-10-28 15:54:39 +0000 UTC]
Just no. For me he is nothing more than just unrelated, dirty dishwater after HoND '39. Plus a little drop of black ink, but that's enough to make it completelly muddy.
I can assign multiple proto-atavistic traits to his persona and I know it makes me intolerant - actually that's true...I AM intolerant, but only because I am not an ignorant.
I love exploring too...However, i prefer to master anatomy and composition first.

*sigh* If this were a romance novel, I'd be blinking my eyes with romance tempered fascination. Since it's Frollo though, I'm slightly disgusted... and strangely content. This was the kind of feeling I was trying to capture during the "hair sniff of death" bit in Lux Nova, my 21st century version of HoND.
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
Howlingmojo In reply to AnaxErik4ever [2011-10-28 13:05:09 +0000 UTC]
Would this be the time to tell you that this is part of my larger series? The Frollo I am molding by writing that tale is just as biased and surly, only know he knows that violence and oppression is not the way to get the girl. Good boy, Frollo.
Did you know the animators originally wanted to make the sniffing scene a lot more extensive? * evil grin*
๐: 0 โฉ: 1
AnaxErik4ever In reply to Howlingmojo [2011-10-28 15:29:17 +0000 UTC]
Really? Well, at least he's not misogynistic like his Disney counterpart. Face it; he was gloating a little too much to Esmeralda's face when he took over the Court of Miracles, and was a little too terse with his threats to her in Notre Dame after she had "claimed Sanctuary". Hmm... do tell.
Um, on second thought, don't tell me about the extended "hair sniff of death"; it might scar me for life, and Frollo has scarred me enough already by assimilating himself as my shadow side.
