Description First attempt at hard surface modelling.

Wanted to make something out of a Gibson novel - cheap, mass produced, sort of toy like. Something you throw away when it breaks because the screws and bolts are all proprietary designs, so you wouldn't be able to maintain the item yourself, even if you knew how.

Were these by chance inspired by the M7 SMG from Halo? The general profile is almost identical to an M7 with the stock fully collapsed.

Well done. The perforations on "the bottom" make it look like an overgrown cheese grater or carpentry planer. Your materials have just enough tooth to look real and not lose detail in the highlights and shadows.

It's ridiculous how many things are designed "so you wouldn't be able to maintain the item yourself, even if you knew how" simply for the sake of making money. The natural result of landfills full of this stuff is daunting.

I really miss the days when function and durability were the hallmarks of good design
