yeah, not really meant for serious wearing, mostly just for the initial experience of "this is how metal works, this is basic chip soldering."

How are the ends joined? Solder or spot-weld (or something else)? Can't quite tell.

chip-soldering. You can see the silver solder on the left side of the ring in that image. Some folks in the class got their rings so well sanded and polished that you'd have a hard time figuring out where the solder actually was. While not as successful, i still enjoy the look

Aha, ok. I saw the silver spot but I wasn't sure, since spot welding sometimes leaves a burn mark. Good job on it anyway, I like it.
