Petition for streaming Cyborg 009 on American websites . This is American only because they block them from other countries. Petition for releasing Cyborg 009 on DVD . I know several of you have merchandise you import or get someway from America, where ever this DVD is released, I must ask you to do that again.===END EDIT
Well, this is part of my answer to the question of the week over at Anime News Network . The question is:
"What old series/movie are you interested in that the new crop of fans is completely uninterested in? Why do you think that is? What steps would you take to reverse it."

Well, I don't think I need to tell you what series I enjoy XD
Seriously, this show had a prime place to gain a following, the Toonami block on weekdays in the 2000's was THE PLACE for animation. But, it didn't garner enough favor to appease the rating gods and it was banished to like 4:30am. What is more disheartening is the series never ran its course in broadcast, missing the last 4 episodes, and we cannot even view it through other means like a streaming site or DVDs.
It just makes me sad.
I wish, I could petition streaming sites to run the series in full, that would be a dream, though, I am unsure how to go about doing that.

In Italy this new serie never came hahah so I had to search for RAWs and downloading the SPANISH VERSION WHICH IS SO BAD DUBBED IT HURTS.
I want someone to sub the serie because the 2001 one needs to have a decent sub. 8'(

I know! It was such a great place for entertainment. Sad that nothing really compares to it today. At least we can enjoy pieces of it through our own collections.

This is great! I love yborg 009, then and now, and hardly anyone knows it! My family and I introduced our youngest kid (8 years old) but he only got to see the nine episodes. I Hope they do more! By the way, i love all your comics, and general ccyborg 009 fan art. even managed to paint a few pics of 004 that my sis drew for me!.

There are more episodes on the internet (mostly on youtube and other sites I can link you too) but if we could have a DVD release, that would be glorious!

It is a shame, and a DVD would be amazing! I have the entire set in japanese but the english subs are terrible! (who knows why?) And yeah, If you ever want to chat, feel free!

They really are! We laugh at the terrible translations because the words are so off sometimes, but you can get the idea of what they're saying.

That would be amazing if they actually did it! I only ever watched it in english when it was on TV since I was a lot younger (toonami on cartoon network XD) and when I got older i missed it. years later, we go to big lots and find the DVD and I just about die!

oh gosh, bless you, bless you! <3 I have no idea how long of an undertaking that is, but its allowed so many fans from around the world to view it. It's such a shame, you would hope since they released that awesome, big set, they would finish the show. But, I guess not. I wonder if sales were that bad...
LOL, US release, I mean, I'm glad for what little we got. But I think they just marketed it wrong. A company that doesn't typically do anime released it, they usually do mainstream TV or movies. So, they must've thought it would be huge. But anime is never that big XD

I used to watch the show all the time when it was on Toonami. I'd record all the episodes and rewatch them over and over again to make sure I didn't miss a single detail. XD I miss those days. I really wish they would have just aired all the episodes. In the past, I actually found a few of the later episodes in Japanese on YT with subtitles. I have no idea where they are now. They just vanished. :< To this day, I still can't find any of the later episodes and it makes me so sad. T^T I'm glad to see more fans. I thought I was the only one because everytime I ask someone if they ever heard of it, I always hear a "no" even though they used to watch Toonami themselves. lol

I've loved this show for years, and was lucky enough to get the first few episodes on DVD (brand new at a Value Village, of all places), but I'd still kill to be able to watch the entire series again...or in general, because I missed quite a few episodes D:

I might have guessed, but it's always good to ask. He's one of my favourites, too. (I can't really think of anyone who likes the series who doesn't like him, actually...) Personally, I like 005 and 008, but I have to admit that 002 is the source of some of my favourite moments in the show :3

I love it how you mention the series being on Toonami for a short time. The episode I got up to by far was like when they stop Black Ghost (their first time) which was like episode 25 or 26. I am like currently trying to re watch the whole series itself right now.
