The stacking and composition of this shot is excellent, and the light beams make the connection between sky and earth.

The colors of the ground appear very washed out to me, almost grey. Was this an artifact of the picture itself, or did you make it that way? Is that your intention? Some gamma correction or contrast change may make the foreground "pop" more.

Thank you so much for your comments. It's much appreciated.

As for the photo itself, it's intact. I did nothing to it. I tend to leave the photos I take as they are. The lighting was very odd that day, maybe that is why the colors of the ground seem washed out. Or perhaps because I was crouching down when I took it. This was one of the last pictures I took that day and I was loosing the light.

Thank you again!

Ah ah, I know that problem. I also don't usually edit my works, although lately I've been getting angry that I couldn't achieve as nice results as those who color correct and edit. Since it doesn't seem to matter to the people who see my work, or anyone else's I've started trying to correct things to get them to how I framed and shot them, not how my digital caught them. While I love my camera, it has limitations, especially without good light sensors, etc.

Anyways, I hope to see more from you soon. If you can come over to my dA page and drop some comments, it would be greatly appreciated.

Ah yes, when something doesn't come out the way I expected then it just collects dust in my computer...figuratively speaking. I've had that problem with shooting clouds, hit and miss sort of thing, unless it's so gorgeous you can't do wrong. Often though what I see through the lense just doesn't translate.

Way ahead of you, I'm already in your gallery. Liking it already. Have to be patient for comments though, give me a day

I really like the stark contrast with the dark land and the sky above. The angle is different and intreasting, I also like the way this picture has different layers, The dark land, the clear 'twililight' area, the rolling storm like clouds the the brillant light and clear sky at the very top. Very artsy, I think of this series of pics, this is my fav. Something about it really apeals to me ^_^!

Thank you for the wonderful comment. This wasn't my favorite, but I liked it quite a bit. The view was rather striking, for the reasons you mentioned. Couldn't not post it. lol
