Redesigned!If I'm gonna develop the Kenomaera's headworld you can be SURE AS ALL FUCK that there's gonna be a Kenomaera marine subspecies. And no, they're not water-based Kenos, they're a subspecies of their own that live mainly in the sea!
The previous design looked too much like Eerays and Manta Sharks, so I've reworked them and based them off of the lionfish. They've lost in the cute department, but goddamn they're badass now, and extremely easy to tell apart from the other two!

- Roleplay
- Put them in AUs or make them interact with other species
- Put them in fandoms, as long as it's a non-canon au for their life
- Give them whatever outfit you want, although keep it simple: most of them don't wear anything!
- Change their markings a bit, or give them a few, if you want
- Work with them in OR out of the given canon headworld. We want this group and species to be as free as it can be!

Basics
The Makolians are a marine cousin species of the Kenomaera. Their skin is leathery and difficult to tear, and always hydrated when out of the water. If the Makolian is too dehydrated, they must be rehydrated immediately or they may die.
As a species, they're widespread across Eslion, as they're an extremely adaptable species. They live in oceans, seas and even lakes. However it's known that they prefer warm, salty waters, so the t
There isn't much about them for now, but here are a few pointers.
- Soul Gem just like their land living cousins, the Kenos and Strings. The colour is affected by the element
- Elements are almost all available aside from Earth, Fire, Ice and Electricity.
- In lack of a tail blade, this species has developed spikes all over the length of their tail and sometimes on their back.
- In lack of back spikes, the Makolian may have a transparent fin.
- May have horns but it's not mandatory.
- One or two pairs of large fin-like wings, they can glide over the air for a few seconds after jumping out of the water. The wings are based off a lionfish's fins, with semi-transparent membrane and cartilaginous / crystalline spikes.
- Ears and fins come in normal or crowned variations, both equally common. Crowned fins will still have the crystalline spikes, but the membrane will be more opaque.
- Gills on neck.
- Feet type can be spear (common) or fairy (uncommon).
- The creature itself can be based on any kind of existing marine / lake fauna or completely randomized design wise.
- Unlimited possibilities colour and design wise.
- They live underwater, but can survive on land for about 8 hours. They must remain hydrated if they want to survive more.

it took me two hours to design them because I wanted them to be easily recognizable from the Eerays. I know the adopt community here is a lot more accepting than the dragon one, but having something I can call 100% my own is great <3
Other people allowed to make adopts of these guys will be Pati-Adopts and HariotAdopts . Β They can also own unlimited amounts of characters from this species.

Sure thing! That's some stuff I didn't cover, haha
Makolians are usually omnivore, being able to eat both fish, shark meat and if needed algae, vegetables and fruits coming from the land such as pineapples, bananas, apples and tomatoes. They can't eat potatoes though as their stomach can't digest them, so if they were to eat one, they'd most likely feel horribly sick for a day or even two. Β They're also immune to puffer fish venom, so they eat them without a single problem. They seem to absolutely adore sepia and octopi, so those are their favorite food along with fruit.
They usually sleep in patterns of 3/4 hours at a time, wake up for a little bit and then fall asleep again. They do it until they've gathered 7-8 hours of sleep at most, and then they'll be fully active for the rest of the day. They prefer to go to sleep around 1 or 2 AM as they can be extremely active at dusk.

OHHHH THAT'S COOL. So let's say that fruit, food or some kind of meats(from other kind of fish or creature) that are not common in their habitat can be kind of ''poisonous'' such as the potato. Would that be correct?. And with poisonous I mean hard to digest or assimilate.

So their teeth is characterized for being functional for an omnivorous diet, or do they have some sharp teeth as sharks or orcas?Β
When it comes to eat animals in general, how do they hunt? Also, about their culture. Do they live in caves, in some kind of houses, between algae or in coral forest?Β
Do they have voice? (Since they are mainly aquatic creatures) It so, can it travel through water? And through oxygen?Β

Not exactly, they can eat meat (although they highly prefer chicken and turkey to cattle (harder to digest)) and fruits equally well, just not potatoes. They're hella poisonous for them.
Salad, spinach and the likes? They can eat them perfectly fine.
Their teeth are like Kenomaeras, coming in two variations: vampire (normal human teeth with longer canines) or shark-like. Shark toothed Makolians of course prefer to eat fish because algae and other things get stuck between their teeth pretty badly and they're difficult to chew for them.
They hunt in groups with large fishnets to catch fish, or with spears and tridents to take down sharks and other large fishes and whales. They don't attack killer whales though, they're too much for them to take.
Their culture isn't still developed, so I can't really answer that one
They live in either wooden / mud houses close to the seashore / ON the beach, or in underwater towns made of algae and wooden sticks and planks. Some can also create cave settlements and use luminescent gemstones as their light sources, but cave settlements are uncommon compared to those built between coral forests and algae forests.
They do have a voice, but while their language is mainly blubbers and glubs underwater, they can speak normally outside of it and communicate with Kenos and Strings well. Their voice tends to be of a higher pitch than that of the other two species though, but not extremely annoying to hear.

About their teeth again, how many times do they ''change'' them? And also their cleanliness and their skin. Are they quite sensible at for example mud or dirt? If so, how they clean theirselves?. Their skin is strong against physical harm, but how about for example fire or acids? Like for example fuels or even urea. Are their fins-wings (I don't know how exactly call them) strong? And how do they work in wanter? I imagined them kind of glide through water *___* Do they use water currents to move around or mostly swim? Are those fin-wings heavy at land?
AND YOU CANNOT EVEN IMAGINE HOW MUCH I LIKED THE LUMINESCENT GEMSTONES AS LIGHTSOURCE
ALSO, I don't know if in your headworld there are humans along these creatures? They are also welcoming with them? And how is their relationship with pirates, fishers...?

By now that's all! I really like tridents as their weapon of hunting, and I find their voice really cute aaaaaaaaaaaaa I can't wait to see the adopts!

They change their teeth only once in their lives, like humans, but if they loose one or two teeth, new ones will grow back in a few weeks.
They aren't too sensible to mud and dirt, though if they were to be covered in mud they'd have to clean themselves up quickly, especially if the mud is close to the gills, they may suffocate. But otherwise dirt doesn't bother them too much, in fact they can survive on land for a few hours before going back in the water to rehydrate.
Oh man their skin is super weak to fire and acid. They basically turn into fried fish if they're burnt or zapped by another elemental, so they try to stay at a safe distance from any kind of flame. They can cook when they're on land (Makos used to living on land will enjoy some cooked or roasted treats) but will still be extremely cautious. They're not exactly flammable thanks to their usually wet skin, but it still burns them horribly if they touch it for even just a fraction of a second.
Their fin-wings are extremely light both on land and water, kind of like a sheet of paper, and they're easy to tear, but they're at the same time difficult to harm because of the crystalline bendable spikes that connect them. They're pretty sharp on the end so they may stab or sting those who get too close to them.Β
And yes, you guessed right! They basically glide through water rather than swimming. Β They do move their fin-wings to propel themselves though, and the best example I can give you is this

No humans in this world, only Kenos and Stringtails ovo and they all live peacefully together.
They have a good relation with fishermen (usually helping them in exchange of seashells or some of the fish they get) and even with pirates! Some Makolians will even be pirates themselves, always in search of lost treasures and the likes.
And yes, they're viviparous, with six months of pregnancy. The baby will be sustained by a mixture of milk and mashed algae, so the new parents leave the underwater towns to settle on the seaside / shoreline until the child is at least 7 years old, grown enough for the depths of the ocean / sea / lake.
And finally, they have predators! Great white sharks, sea serpents and killer whales are their natural enemies, sea serpents being the most dangerous for them.

HM I THINK their sight is slightly blurred outside of the water, but crystal clear IN the water. They see as many colours as humans though, and when looking at direct sunlight, they see everything black for a few minutes. Basically they go temporarily blind.

They live about 110 / 120 human years. Their life spans are longer than ours but the same as Kenos and Strings!

It's a shame really, but in a way it's refreshing? I'm so used to seeing dragonoids that all look the same that working on a humanoid species and making them stand out from similar ones was a real, nice challenge.
The soul gem is a recurring theme for the Keno's world, as are the crystalline horns. Once I set that theme, I couldn't help but work with it
