I don't think they partied too hard, I think they worked too hard. They look like they are in office clothes and had to go to a "nomikai" with their bosses afterward or something. I hate having to do that... luckily my current work doesn't necessitate that I spend any extra time with my co-workers

That's what I believed the two women were tired from, work. Those are definitely NOT party/clubbing clothing. Poor ladies, they're completely knocked out. Hope they arrive home safely and if they ever find this photo, I hope they can just enjoy it for what it is- a silly moment.

It's great that in japan this form of public transportation has been segregated along the sex lines. Before that something like this could be regarded with and understandable amount of fear for these girls welfare. It's kind of nice to see that someone can pass out on the way home without much hesitation.

The trains aren't really segregated. They attempted to do a train for only women passengers on a few lines at certain times of day, but I have yet to find a train that actually enforced those rules. I think they just dropped them all together.

Actually, what I noticed when I pulled up the thumb was that the one poor girls sockings have runs! I even went 'Oh no! All that fun and ruined hose!' Very nice composition!

Haha! Having just studied abroad in Japan, I can see this happening so easily, though I've never seen it quite so bad though, lol! People are always falling on top of one another on the trains when they're asleep! It's hilarious to watch!

From my personal experiences, It's normal to see something like this in Japan everyday where the Japanese work themselves to death, literally.
Japanese employees are well known for their fierce loyalty to their companies and most of the time you can see them sleep in radical positions on the train floor after long hours of work.
and Japan is well known with the term Karoshi - death from overwork.
