A good friend of mine's wife was cheating on him. She was also good friends with my wife. They were talking about the whole thing, in private. My wife didn't betray her trust, so all she could do was watch and listen. I didn't know what had happened until after the whole thing broke down. This is the picture I painted from that situation.

Thanks. If truth makes good comedy, maybe it helps to strengthen art as well.

I love your work, you have a way of displaying emotions that is uniquely your own. What caught my eye first about this piece is that the women are naked yet one is wearing a crown and the man is bent over, almost humbled, yet fully clothed. Very beautiful.

Thank you very much. It's really not one of my favorite pieces (technically), but because of it being based on something real, people seem to identify with it.

Thank you again for the comment.

I think a lot of us can relate to this, who nows for sure, its what i think anyway. It certainly rings a bell or two with me and also reminds me of stories i have heard.

Thank you very much. It was a bad situation in my friends life (the sculptor) And a confusing time for me (the painter in the background) But, after my friends divorce from his wife (girl with crown) was over, this picture became clear to me. So I painted it.

I mean to say didn't figuratively happen. Probably did literally happen and that's why it's funny, but also sad because it doesn't seem that that feminine creative energy... wait, oh my god, that's scary. But because it's true? Are you saying that the destructive wins out because it is the feminine creative nature not the masculine creative nature? The feminine creative nature has been oppressed by masculine opportunism. The symbolism of the two women and the cat, and the gesturing represent a creative force of destruction I think that has been symbolized by the hermaphroditic creature that masons and such worship? These are all humble queries. I like this one, and you have a unique combination of influences and an elegantly refined technique, but it is this one, it confuses me.

Thank you for your comment. That's a rather deep analysis of the painting, but the reality of it is not near so deep. The sculptor is a friend of mine. The woman holding the knife is his wife. (now ex-wife) The entire picture is a symbolic representation of what was going on at the time. She was cheating on him behind his back, and confiding in her closest friend. Fortunately, that is me, the painter, safely in the background. It was all a web of lies and deceit that was only known to me after it was too late to warn him.

Dum? I loved your analysis of this painting. I thought it was very insightful. It's just one of those situations that, if you didn't live through it, you wouldn't have known what was going on. I just had the advantage (or disadvantage) of being there.

I'm very sorry if I made you feel dum. Like I said, I loved your comment.

Even better, isn't the further interpretations what give it all such a rich texture? I did mean most of it lightly. I gathered from the intelectual nature of your imagery that you might appreciate further satirical celebration. There's a neat humor to your pictures. But I guess I just meant: Man, screw that bitch.

Hahaha James, you are one of a kind. Yes, I did appreciate your comments very much. The interpretations were very interesting. It sometimes makes me wonder what others will say about out art when we are not there to explain it. It's funny and sometimes scary. I showed some of my drawing to a psychologist once. (not in a session but social situation) All I wanted to do was, not let him see anymore of them. There were things he was seeing that thought were cleverly disguised.
