As for nomadic people (albietly ancient ones), hospitality was one of the main and most enforced virtues.
Read about it among both ancient mongols (Gengis han codefied the tradition into law) and arabs.

Trust no one, but in a world like that... I'd trust the storm even less.

That is an interesting question... trust no one, I would say...

I very much like this piece. Given my well documented fondness for darker shades and muted colours, I suppose this is unsurprising. I particularly like the detail in the wreck.

Good to hear from you! I've got a folder filled with "Scorched Earth" sketches, but I'm yet to add the obligatory dark shades and muted colours in Photoshop! Mind you, a couple of pieces may get a clear blue desert sky.

I haven't, though a lot of people have suggested graphic novels. An early offer I turned down was very Gibson (urban cyberpunk) and a more promising recent one features zombies, but to be honest I'd rather create my own worlds and characters. For now I'm aiming for a Scorched Earth compilation followed by more Necromechanics. When these worlds have been fleshed out more I'll give more thought to graphic novels.

Is that the remains of a Tarkavian Despoiler?

I was thinking more a heavy transport - the "Warbirds" series belongs to a different timeframe, though it's likely to have left plenty of wrecks!

Very nice pic.
The sense of size is good and I like how the travellers gun doesn't look ramshackle or beaten up, suggesting he might be an ex-military guy or something.

Thanks! I set myself a challenge here and I'm happy with the way it turned out.

I'd roughed this one out a few months ago but wasn't satisfied with it. The traveller was more of a ragged drifter, but I had lots of similar characters in the folio already. The desert cam, harness and assault rifle in this version suggest a military background. I think this adds to the suspense as it gives the other characters a reason to be wary as well.

And you did it very well.
Suspicion works both ways in post-apocalyptia.
