The first few times a guy wearing a sack on his head charges at you with a chain-saw.
That, and that creepy breed of creature in the labs later on. He's slow moving and makes a creepy noise. That send a shivver down my spine.

Especially when you are out of rifle ammo, have 25 pistol rounds and one grenade left. That creepy breathing you hear? Thats the game letting you know just how totally screwed you are...

the black things that can only be killed by shooting the parasites using an infrared scope.... yeah they're freakish

My favorite power was Living Hive.
The game called it Insect Swarm but Living Hive sounds so much cooler.

Man, this is greatness; and I can relate somewhat, because I played Bioshock some. Unforunately, it was a RENTAL; so now it's gone and I miss it dearly... realized just how long it was, as I still had 3 or 4 areas left to explore and conquer.
