First time I ever played it, it was about 1 AM and thunder storming..... never again..... I love this so much. Bioshock is one of my all time faves, and this is priceless. and the boss thing... omfg..... the splicers are harder to kill than he is.... seriously....
is 5 supposed to be the maps? I dont get that one.

5 is the hacking system where many times the pipe leads directly into broken areas and it is impossible to complete the pipe system.

Here's something to blow your mind. (Read: SPOILER)
Vita-Chambers are keyed in to Ryan's genetic code. That's why they work for you, but not Rapture's other citizens. In other words...he's not dead.

Seriously? Resident Evil 4 made you jump? That game wasn't scary... Thrilling, perhaps, decidedly exiting, but scary? Nah... Well, that's my opinion anyway... If you want scary, try Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners of the Earth (Xbox/Pc, don't recommend PC though, because of Starforce copy protection... Bad program that can mess up your burners and what not). You should be able to find it cheap (If you try

Well clearly you have large testicles.
As I have none, and tend to not enjoy getting attacked by villages with axes and aliens sprouting out of their heads who are just there when you turn around and see they're en mass.
My brother only got scared at the bit where you had to listen for the big scary thing which can kill you in one, and you can only tell where it is by listening to the breath.

I do not see how my anatomy matters concerning this subject... Really, I don't...
One part of RE4 that did really freak me out, was the freezer, and those Regenerators (Can only be killed by shooting the bugs inside, and have extremely freaky lud wheezing breaths). Brrr...
Besides that, I jumped a few times. But I still wouldn't call the game downright scary. But yeah, again, this is just my personal opinion.

So true...can't believe how true it is *laughs some more* I didn't play the game, but was staying next to a friend of mine and I have to admit that my jaw dropped a few times during the game, the exceptional shock-techniques did their job really well and the part with the little sisters and big daddys was reallly...wierd and funny too.
Yeah, the comic is great, but I preffer watching my friends play BioShock and admire the awsomness of the graphics, rather than clicking the buttons myselfs.

The game's fantastic, and everything here is bang on.
Except there's no note about that shit-scary sequence in Posiedon Plaza, where, upon investigating a switch, all the apparently dead, plastered (literally) splicers behind you have gone.
That, and Ryan's fantastic ' When the rats have eaten the last scrap of you, Rapture will be reborn. I will lead a parade. 'Who was that?' they'll ask, pointing to the sad shape on my wall, 'Who was that?'

Just not as good as System Shock 2 and so consol'd down - I think you'd have to be TRYING to not be good at everything by the end.
The final boss was laughable on easy - but then you could pretty easily kill Big Daddy's on easy with only the wrench - but somewhat irritating on hard.

2 - Those audio sure was unnerving, but it was kinda annoying too. I usually listened to them while running around, and a guy would jump me in the middle of it. Then I couldn't hear the rest of the tape because of all the burning and shooting...
7 - I tried to refrain from killing the guy by moving my mouse around like crazy when I got there... I was seriously like "Noooo I don't want to kill hiiiim! Noooooo!!!!!!!!!" but i had to beat him to death after all.... T_T

but yesh pretty indeed, i loved the entire game to bits...especially the "artist" part (where you had to kill ppl and take pics of them for Cohen and place them in his "masterpiece" :B)

The first time the lights go out when you're advancing on a shadow made me jump.

You ever tried F.E.A.R.? - It's an okay FPS, with great graphics and an "a bit more creative" AI, but best of all it has some really great horror-y scenes, with weird dazy day-dreams and creepy small girls...

I definitely agree there..You're talking about the time when that random enemy doctor is working on a patient right? I actually skipped that part and didn't notice that scene until near half-way through the game, lol.
The flippin statues that came to life freaked the bejeebus out of me when I first saw them too..You kept walking around the columns and they'd change positions...
After that, I couldn't walk around the sculptures without being on edge. O_o;

If you though that was scary you should play the original "System Shock". Its old but scary

SS1 certainly had it's moments, especially considering it only had Doom era graphics (with which it did things I have yet to see recreated in a modern game). I found SS2 to be much creepier though, possibly because of the sounds and voices... or maybe just because I was so annoyed by the time I got SS1 running well in the emulator that I wasn't in the mood to be spooked.
