a bit too much contrast as his stomache is lost by the highlight being blown.
otherwise, the expression just about makes up for that.
like the use of negative space too....and the triangle created with the chair.

Thank you Ami,never took notice of the blown belly highlights before,I`ll re-check the original,pretty sure that`s all sun on the day so no idea how I could combat that post production

it's always difficult when confronted with a contrasty day/situation. I try to underexpose on a beach by almost a stop if in direct sunlight as the shadows can always be pulled back if necessary and tweaked in PS.
If the highlights are paper white/completely lost, there's not much that can be done in PS as there is no detail. But if there is any information, you can add a layer and burn the light areas. Maybe setting the white balance to not blown will help too.
