Description
Gine, =anti00gravity , suggested that I upload this when I was showing her my moon shots yesterday.Shot right in the center, I'll let you guys decide. Turns out this is an old image taken in January 23, 2008.
As usual, no edits. Blue tone due to the proper white balance and the zoom is authentic.
Note that the 72mm focal lenght is actually 432mm in 35mm equivalence.

Thanks
I suggest aiming the focus point at the moon so you get a fast shutter speed.
Then if you're hand is moving too much; use a tripod.

which white balance setting did you use?
and there have been a lot of full moon occurrences lately.. i tried to take a picture of it using my point-and-shoot, and it just looked like a spherical, blurry shot of light...

I believe it was incandescent.
Oh; that's because you need to aim the point of metering and focus on the moon itself.
What's your camera model?

evamarieinstead In reply to josephacheng [2008-11-20 11:19:14 +0000 UTC]
Sony T-20. It's phased-out already. Even if you do aim the metering and focus its still blurry because of the zoom. My camera apparently can't take it. Haha.
Must. Buy. Telephoto. Lens.

Oh! A SONY T-20!!!
T series are the best compact cameras; hands down, but the T-20 was an especially cute model!
Are you using program mode or auto mode?

program, of course! auto mode is for.. well.. people who enjoy taking numerous pictures of themselves doing the same pose over and over again.

What's your ISO setting?
Maybe you just need to keep your hands more steady.

its hard to keep it steady when you're in full zoom. i use high ISO, like.. 800 to 1600 when i tried shooting it.

Oh that's body motion; not camera related.
Hold the camera as close to your body as possible to keep it steady; use a tripod if needed.

The tripod defintely helps, else it would be like using your hands to hold a telescope (and snatch an image at the same time).

Oh I thought this is an actual blue moon, which is really rare, anyways nice job on doing that wonderful tone even without the help of edits.
