Chapter 11
It was now a year after Jeikudon had ascended to the throne. He now had responsibilities to attend to, mainly the reconstruction of the citadel, still being fixed after the great battle between him and his uncle. Jeikudon finally managed to complete reconstruction when his mother came to him, with something important to say. “Jeikudon,” said Marrah “I need to talk to you about something. Do you remember how I told you how your father and I had to leave? Well, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.” Jeikudon replied “What is it, mom?” Marrah began to speak again “When me and your father left…..I was pregnant again” Jeikudon replied “What!?” Marrah said “Your father and I wanted to start another family once we left……It was a girl…We called her Myreena. I only left because I knew your father was capable of caring for her.” Jeikudon replied in shock and anger ”Why would you never tell me this!? Don’t you think I would have wanted to know I had a sister!?” Marrah replied “I’ve been trying to tell you, but you’ve been so busy with reconstruction! And on another note, you may be a king, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t speak to your mother in that disrespectful tone!” Jeikudon sighed and said “I’m sorry, this is just a lot to take in.” He and his mother then hugged and he left. Later, he sat on his balcony, looking at an object in his hand. Wyraxus then showed up and said “Hey, Jeikudon. What are you doing?” Jeikudon then fumbled to hide what was in his hand and said “Hey Wyraxus. What’s going on?” Wyraxus then said “Mom told me about our sister. I couldn’t believe it either.” He looked at Jeikudon’s hand, hidden behind his back. “What’s that?” Wyraxus asked. Jeikudon then said “Fine. I can’t keep this secret any longer.” He pulled it out and revealed it to be an engagement ring. Wyraxus said “For Raikura?” in amazement. “Yes. I want to ask her to be my queen. But you can’t tell anyone, not even Kotora. The moment has to be perfect when I ask her.” Wyraxus then said “I understand. Your secret is safe with me.” The two brothers then made their way down to the rest where they made the announcement. They all now had the task of running a kingdom, finding Jeikudon’s father, and now his sister.
