Chapter 9
3 days later, Jeikudon was still asleep. His skin had returned to its natural color, and it was a matter of time before he would wake up. Inside him, he was having nightmares. He found himself faced with his friends and family, who now hated him. Over their clamoring, he heard them yelling things such as “You monster!”, “You evil beast!” He looked at his parents, looking for sympathy, and his father sneered and said “You’re no son of mine.” His mother lowered her head in shame “How could you?” Raikura said angrily “You never told me about this! How could I love a monster like you!?” They all stood still, and somehow were moving backwards, as if they were being pulled away from him. He tried to run after them, but when he would increase in speed, they would double that speed. Soon they were gone, and he was left with nothing, and no one. He only heard their screams in his head, over and over, increasing in volume and intensity, until he woke up. He managed to slip out undetected and sat near the lake, thinking and looking at his own reflection. Raikura headed into his tent to look and see how he was doing, but noticed he was gone. She alerted the others, and they all looked in different areas. Raikura was calling for him and looking worriedly until she found him by the lake. She started to run toward him until he said concerned “Don’t come any closer!” She said “What are you talking about?” He said angrily at her “You saw what I was! That..thing..that’s what I really am! How could you ever love a monstrous beast like me!?” Raikura said to him, moving closer to comfort him “That’s not what you are. That’s not the you I know. It’s what we decide to do that defines us, not what we are made to do.” Jeikudon was still distant. He then began to speak. He said “That form I have, it’s been there all my life. When it would happen, I would manage to get far away enough so that I couldn’t be seen or heard.” Raikura asked “Why do you have it?” Jeikudon replied “It’s hereditary, albeit very rare. My grandfather had it, and nearly drove himself mad trying to stop it. It skipped a generation with my father, but I have it. Eventually, my grandfather exiled himself and made my father king.” Raikura said “Listen, when you really care about someone, you don’t let their faults scare you away.” Jeikudon’s eyes welled up with tears as he hugged Raikura “Thank you.” Raikura hugged him back and they shared a kiss. The two headed back and Jeikudon told them the whole story. Wyraxus was concerned “Could that happen to me!?” Jeikudon reassured him and said “No, it’s only ever happened to me and our grandfather.” Supirokodon said “This is all well and good, but what are we going to do? Kyomyraxus still rules the kingdom, so are we going to take your throne back or what?” Jeikudon then got up and said “We’re going to go back, and I will take my rightful place as king.” As they managed to stealthily make their way toward the kingdom, they managed to not be seen, mainly because Kyomyraxus had the citizens all gathered to witness his coronation. They got into the dungeons to free Gutritus when they were stopped by two guards. These guards were hit by Kotora’s mist and released Gutritus happily. They then knocked the two guards out and made their way to the citadel, where the coronation was taking place. Jeikudon revealed himself in the middle of the crowd. The citizens were shocked beyond belief, as Jeikudon yelled “I am the true heir to the throne! Kyomyraxus tried to assassinate me so he could take over!” Jeikudon and his allies blasted Kyomyraxus through the wall behind him, and began to rejoice when they saw a mysterious blue light. It emanated from Kyomyraxus’ body, as he said, his voice growing in volume. “You think you’ve defeated me?” a storm of blue energy surrounded him as he grew to a quarter of the palace itself. He exclaimed “The right to kingship is my birthright!” Jeikudon then thought of the loud phrases he heard in his dream, and turned into his Hyper Kaiju Mode. He lept up to fight Kyomyraxus, but was smacked away by his massive tail. Jeikudon found himself in his normal form, shot away from the kingdom, but still in sight of it. He fell to his knees in shame and sadness “I can’t defeat him!” He exclaimed “If I couldn’t defeat him then, how will I ever be able to fight him!?” He sobbed as the stranger came up to him and spoke. She said “Don’t cry. I know you have what it takes to challenge him. I’ll teach you.” Jeikudon said “How do you you know?” The stranger grabbed her robe and threw it off, and revealed herself. She was revealed to be Marrah, Jeikudon’s supposedly missing mother! She then said “Because you’re my son.” Jeikudon said in shock “M-mom!?”
