FAQ / Questions and Answers: Can I join the Group/submit art?
Yes, we accept all join requests and are open to submissions from all artists, despite the level of talent. Can we be affiliates?
We are pickier about our affiliates. If you are a relevant Group with over 100 members then feel free to send a request. Can you advertise my group/contest/promotion/commissions, etc?
Kemonomimi-Club does not endorse or allow advertisements of any kind. Do you have a standard for talent/skill in this group?
We welcome art from all levels of skill, but we do concern ourselves with presentation quality. Remember to only submit completed work (no sketches, WIPs, etc). For traditional art please scan with care and clean-up before submitting. Consider presentation for your photos, props and written works, as well. Why was my art declined?
Most of the time when art is declined, it's because something about the picture was against our rules. Please review the rules before inquiring. What is a "Kemonomimi"?
Literal translation: "Animal Ears". Humans that possess minimal animal qualities. In this club, we only allow animal ears and a few other things (see below). Kemonomimi are the main, and only, focus of this club. *What is a "Kemono"?
Literally meaning "animal" or "beast", but used to describe the Japanese equivalent of an anthropomorphic, or "furry", character. They are also called "Kemonobito" (beast-human). Kemono are not allowed in the club. What is a "Neko"?
'Neko' simply means 'cat' in Japanese. It is a common but incorrect term used to describe nekomimi, or cat eared characters. Nekomimi is the most popular form of kemonomimi. *What is a "Hybrid"?
A Hybrid is a combination of a Kemonomimi and a Furry/Anthro/Kemono of any kind. They have extra animal features that Kemonomimi don't normally possess, such as paws, patches of fur, etc. Hybrids are only allowed in this club when they possess the back feet of an animal. *What is a "Modern Anthro"?
Modern Anthros are more humanistic than Traditional Anthros. They have human-shaped faces so they are often mistaken for Kemonomimi. Modern Anthro are not allowed in the club. (Try Modern-Anthro ) Are there any other non-human "add-ons" that you allow besides ears?
As long as the body of the character is entirely human, only replacing the human ears for animal ears, then most add-ons are okay. Tails are, of course, always welcome. We allow horns to compliment the ears of a sheep, goat or other similar Kemonomimi. We also allow wings, such as angel or dragon wings, as long as they are not replacing the forearms. Bird Kemonomimi can exist in this club if they possess tufts of feathers that resemble ears, owl "horns" or gryphon ears. Why allow "fake" animal ears or animal ear "look-a-likes"?
Fake ears or "look-a-likes" (hair/ feathers/ fur in the shape of ears) are accepted as long as they actually do resemble animal ears. It doesn't matter if the character depicted can actually hear out of them or not, as long as the kemonomimi look gets across. On that note, hats that include animal faces with ears do NOT count.

Um...most of my submissions are pics of drawings it takes to much time to scan something just so I could post it...so can I still submit stuff?
or it's literally impossible because it's something that cNt be scanned(a big piece of artwork)
Heres some of my stuff: animalover4six.deviantart.com/…

Some of that stuff should be okay (not the sketches, because we don't allow them, but some of the colored pics). If you have to take a photo, I would suggest using a photo editing program to crop out some of the edges so it's harder for the audience to tell it's a photo. The photo quality itself is pretty good, it almost looks like a scan already.

Sorry, our club is animal-ear focused, so we don't allow horns only.

Can I submit artworks of my OCs that other people made (commission, contest entry, art trade, etc.) for me?

That should be fine as long as the original artist is okay with the art being in groups.

We only allow covers/chapter pages/preview and the very first page of a comic series (counts as a preview), but we don't allow the whole comic or random pages.

Question! What about mature art? Like sexy stuff? Nudity, pinups, alluring, suggestive poses.. Obviously nothing x rated, since you can't even post that here. But what about smut? I can post a link of an example if you want...

Yeah, we allow it. We have the same standards as dA's ToS, but like it says on the rules page: just try to keep it tasteful!

Quick question! Do commission templates/info count as text-heavy (I'm sure they do, but just in case...) and are they allowed in the first place?

Most likely, as long as they have animal-like ears. Mythical creature kemonomimi, or made-up species, are fine.

I have a question, kinda... A lot of the groups I've been snooping around in request that when submitting art you (the submitter) are supposed to submit to the 'proper folder'. I only get one folder option for submitting... Do you (the staff) sort it all out on your own after we submit it to the featured gallery? I just wanted to double check before hand... Thanks!

This question is answered in the rules, but yes, we sort the folders ourselves. Just submit to the featured folder.

two questions.
First: Mods retain the right to deny any piece, for any reason. <---- so if an artwork isn't violating any rules a moody mod can deny a deviation simply because they don't like it?
Second: I rarely draw them but just for the sake of certainty in not breaking any rules or wasting any time further down the road. I have characters [link] that have skin discolorations and what not but have 100% human anatomy save for those patterns on the skin. (aka they have the animal ears but they have human bodies) I've actually been deliberating myself if this borders on Anthro to me. So this "modern anthro" is a new thing to me. I'm curious if they'd be okay for this group? Or are they too on the anthro side? LOL I draw plenty of kemonomimi that I know for a fact fit within the guidelines so I'll join regardless I'm just looking for clarification.

arosyks In reply to BananAdopt [2012-11-05 05:15:12 +0000 UTC]
I retained the right mainly because some of the other rules, such as "work must show effort", are a bit subjective. I've never denied a piece due to simply not liking it, but we do have stricter rules as what we accept as "kemonomimi" here, that some may not be satisfied with. I also would like to keep that rule in case I feel a piece is overly sexual. We allow 18+ work that falls under DA's TOS, but I may deny some of the underage artwork that slips under the radar.
"Modern anthro" is pretty in between classic anthro/furry and kemonomimi. I'd say your characters would probably be accepted here, due to the fact that they have brown skin, not fur, and their faces look entirely human. Their skin color is pretty natural, and I can accept the darker shades as markings, which are allowed for the most part. The darker one really blurs the lines, but I think I would let him slide. He's really right on the edge, but I don't think he explicitly breaks any rules.

Unfortunately, they wouldn't be accepted. The first example has human-ish skin color, but the dark hands and animal-esque face would exclude it.

I know I asked this question before on the last blog (but I'm not sure if it went through), so I will ask again. Most of my OCs are Dramens and they just have the tail of the dragon while the rest of them are human. Others are Kemonomimis, and very few have 4 ears (human and animal ears), they can't be removed. Are they still allowed here or somewhere else?

arosyks In reply to AJInu-Okami [2012-04-08 01:44:35 +0000 UTC]
Animal ears are accepted even with human ears. If the character just has a tail, it's not enough to get them in. They need the animal ears.

arosyks In reply to AJInu-Okami [2012-04-08 07:15:10 +0000 UTC]
Horns alone won't be accepted, either. Things like horns and tails are allowed on the characters, but they are more like "additional features", the main thing we are looking for are the actual animal ears.
