in my imaginary interpretation of THOR 2 after the chaos in "the avengers" Loki is not a prisoner...but he voluntarily chooses to remain isolated for his wounded pride XD (???)

OMG! I just realized what was bothering me during this scene in Dark World. It wasn't dark enough. Loki is sitting in a well lit room with Thor standing in the hall with his face illuminated. It didn't come of nearly as bleak as it wanted to be.
The image here is perfect! It's exactly what was missing. Loki was distraught over his mother's death and the scene should reflect that. The image of Thor standingΒ silhouetted in the doorway asking his brother for help is far more powerful then what we got.

Yeah, I'd totally agree with this version, it would be much better. In fact his pride is mortally wounded... He always wanted to be Thor's equal and after having known such an awful truth he decided to such reckless act and a bold attempt to deny everything butΒ his will and might in order to prove he's the worthy son. And this is the one thing that I really hated Marvel for: in fact Loki killed his own father for Odin - and yet nobody really cared -_- After this "I could have done it, father!" Odin could have said at least "I know" or such - and Loki wouldn't have left them. It was one of the most dramatic moments in whole Marvel universe ever.

have you seen the new thor 2 yet? you should totally do another of loki imprisoned. the scene when he releases his illusion. it was sad and really heart wrenching.

you know after Hulk smashed him he did seem to act odd when he got up he could of left before the Avengers came back for him but didn't he gave up asking for his drink maybe I am wrong

By the time the Avengers came back for him, Loki only managed to drag himself a few feet and he asked for the drink. After that, and before he and Thor left Earth, I'm sure someone was keeping an eye on him. Maybe Fury had Coulson's blaster aimed at Loki's head while the Avengers enjoyed their shwarma.

But nah, he's just a guy that tried to commit genocide on his race then tried to enslave another race to be king despite not really wanting the king title in the first title.
(spoiler) He may not be very okay after trying to commit suicide, falling through the void then getting physically tortured by Thanos and getting possibly mind controlled.
He just needs some very good therapy...

Or maybe he was being mind controlled by the tesseract just like hawkeye and a part of him is afraid that they can still use him. So he gets himself locked up that way. Plus he still see himself as a monster.
