LAWL I kind of find it funny that people think these are made out of laziness. xD These are meant to be used by the disabled people that find it hard to climb up normal steps, the lazy ones just take advantage~

It's probably for the disabled and elderly. Building codes are very stringent on providing them equal access to everything.
