We have those in the mall nearby, and I always thought it was so stupid, not to mention lazy.
But when my mom hurt her knee I was amazingly grateful that the things were there- her relief at not having to walk up the stairs, even if it was just a few, was an eye opener.

I don't mean to defend, but for some people six steps is seriously a challenge, and I'm not talking about the fatties. I'm talking about the elderly and people with horrible debilitating conditions that make walking painful.

i just want to point out that escalators can help people who have trouble walking stairs. for example old people, physically impaired people... or, for people who are carrying goods on trolleys. even if it's just for 6 steps.

I'm sure that escalators don't get installed for the ease of people with heavy trolleys. One, it would be a safety hazard, and thats why there are ramps. Not to make getting a trolly somewhere with more ease.

i'm sure those escalators provide some sort of help for people. baby chairs, wheel chairs, large baggages...
i do get the joke in this artwork. but i'm just pointing out the reality in it that a lot of people are taking foregranted of...

i totally agree XD But i went to germany this summer and i have to say they had the most friggin moving floors that i have EVER seen in an airport XD. There were REALLY long ones every eight feet or so!
