My friend asked me to repair the seam on the neck of his cheetah model and repaint it (you can see the original in the left top corner).I also repaired some defects of moulding and made the tail a little longer. I didn't resculpt paws, so I needed to use cartoonish style of painting for them.
Wind Spirit попросил меня как-нибудь подправить фигурку гепарда, в которой ему сильно не нравится глубокий шов на шее и покраска.
Фигурка, несмотря на китайское происхождение, весьма неплохая по форме, но покраска выдает страну-изготовителя.
"Дорабатывала напильником" шов на шее, заделала несколько раковин - дефектов отливки, сгладила менее заметные торчащие швы на голове и теле, долепила кончик хвоста (оригинал "втыкался" в пол). Тотально перекрашивала (в итоге получилось несколько спорных моментов, которые в принципе укладываются в индивидуальные особенности), лапы пришлось красить с мультяшной стилизацией - форма неправильная, переделывать не стала.

...That... that figure was honestly meant to be a cheetah before repainting? It looks more like a hyena! But you made it gorgeous, it looks very realistic now.

Ничего себе преобразился! Как будто две разных фигурки! Очень понравилось! У меня тоже есть китайский вариант кошек ( в наборе, классический вариант: лев, тигр, гепард и пара, тройка африканских животных ) Я им только глаза исправляла ^^

Awesome! I mean, I'm impressed on how these figures get painted better and better in the last years, but lots of them lok just as bad as this poor little fellaw in the upper left corner. You did a wonderful job saving hin

I only know some firms that make painting work good (and those models have a good price, though it's very reasonable). Others needs at least a repainting, but most of models needs resculpting very much.

I didn't touch most part of the plastic. It has the fur texture and acrylic paints I used are lustreless, so it just not shine now. After this repainting I know much more about cheetah's spots

it looks awesome! lusterless paint? never heard of it, i'll look into it, i need some of that for an upcoming clay sculpture and the paint i used for my last one ruined it so i need better paint >:C
but what about the tail, what material did you use? like was the plastic melted or what?

It doesn't call lusterless, "usual" artistic acrylic paints are like this. That's why you can find "glossy acrylic", that will have glare (but sometimes it could remain sticky even when it completely dry).
