Annie had been taken captive by a couple of rough customers who had claimed that her boss, the "famous" magician The Amazing Cosmo (aka Larry) owed them some money.

Annie, still barefoot and clad only in the leotard that she wore in her magic acts onstage, was trussed up with her hands above her head in a run-down storeroom. She was completely bound hand and foot and gagged. Annie should have been royally screwed.

But she wasn't.

Seeing a concrete cinder block on the floor next to her, Annie managed to step onto it with her bound feet. By doing this, she was raised high enough to work her hands loose, and then she was able to escape. As she walked out to safety, Annie gave the cinder block one last grateful look. She had used many different tools to escape her bonds in the past, but this is the first time she had ever used a cinder block!
