That's cool! Wish I could model, oh but I noticed one error. Those aren't the rims from the movie, may want to look at a screen to see what they really look like

This is not really the kind of car I like, but nevertheless you did a great job modeling it, it's looking perfect.

Sure, I use Cinema4D, and ~ragingpixels has a great car modeling tutorial in his journals, that's where I learnt to model.

You make me very sad for you do not know where this RX7 actually came from. Or it would seem.

Anywho, this is the Veilside Fortune RX7. Veilside wanted 150k$ for it. Universal paid 50k$. That car won the Tokyo Auto Salon best in show in some year (02, maybe 03). After Universal bought it, they spraypainted it.

Seriously, Google "Veilside Fortune RX7", you should get more info.

L-X In reply to Omega-Kun [2006-07-09 06:44:40 +0000 UTC]

...Thanks for that. It's not news to me, the origional colour was silver/dark grey. I'd rather not google this again since I've done in plenty getting reference images to model it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omega-Kun In reply to L-X [2006-07-09 06:48:37 +0000 UTC]

Ah. Just checking.

Since, you know, all the people that go to see F&F cause they're "Ricer boyzeee" and don't really know what some of the cars are.

Really is a shame that Universal bought it... becase.... they crashed it. No joke. It's wrecked, just like the 30-something other cars they crashed.

L-X In reply to Omega-Kun [2006-07-09 06:50:32 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I remember the scene where this car gets totally wasted. Such a waste eh?

Do you prefer the orange/black or dark grey paint job?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Omega-Kun In reply to L-X [2006-07-09 06:52:27 +0000 UTC]

I perfer the original one, before they SPRAYPAINTED it.

When it comes to exotics, I perfer either stock or race spec. Take the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 V-Spec II Nur for instance...

awww, i had the same idea, oh well, i guess i'll go and make a custom body now, i guess i'll use supercars as inspiration.

L-X In reply to ragingpixels [2006-07-09 03:38:20 +0000 UTC]

were you going to make this car too?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ragingpixels In reply to L-X [2006-07-09 15:27:23 +0000 UTC]

I started to make one, started doing a Veilside Kit and was thinking of doing it like this car, but now im not, maybe an FTO style kit instead.

L-X In reply to ragingpixels [2006-07-09 23:34:25 +0000 UTC]

Yes! FTO!

(I love fto's)

almost forgot to tell you, maybe on the final image, you could put these words on it : "Fortune Favors the Brave" as that is the text that is on the seats in the car:

L-X In reply to ragingpixels [2006-07-11 22:58:42 +0000 UTC]

wow, nice shot. Only thing in the interior is a dash (made from about 5 polies and a hypernurb) and simple bucket seats, so I dont think I'll be putting that much detail it. Cool saying though.

Perhaps it would need a little more shine, unless this is mate color... Anyways, great work on that one!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

L-X In reply to Zeag [2006-07-08 04:10:53 +0000 UTC]

Cheers.

I had four renders for the scene, the car with full reflections (tonnes), the car with no reflections, the background by itself, and the car by itself. I fiddled with them all in photoshop and tried to combine them into something which was fairly realistic, and this was the result. I'm going to need alittle more practice with compositing photos into my renders.

I take it that you made it....

L-X In reply to Ouji-San [2006-07-07 23:26:37 +0000 UTC]

I made this from scratch using a 3D program. The design however, is not mine and is based on the movie.

Thanks
