Yeah - sorry I haven't updated my journal as promised, but I haven't received my mag yet. I'm in the magazine itself, so I'm really happy about that. Your finger-crossing helped
It's now available for purchase at shops and of course here [link] .
I'm still going to update my journal when I get the mag - but i'm afraid it'll be old news by then hehehe

Excellent tutorial dude. I work pretty much the same way... I also use the distort features a lot too, but spherize is new to me, and a fantastic idea for texturing.
I've gotta use photo textures more in my paintings. I find I take too much time trying to do it with textured or custom brushes, and it takes much longer than it should.
Also, I like the idea of whipping shit at paper and scanning it for the blood. I was going to ask how you made it so convincing, but you totally covered it. Thanks bud!

LarsSamsoe In reply to Rahll [2007-05-24 06:15:02 +0000 UTC]
Thanks bro - I think this way gives you a lot more freedom, as you can keep your textures on a separate layer, allowing you to makes significant changes in the painting without screwing up the textures. Custom brushes are also great, but that takes a bit more planning, I think
Glad you like

Totally dude. My textures tend to be on separate layers, as long as it's not a speedpainting

What a great tutorial for people to learn from Lars. I may do something similar showing the channels process at some point. Could you make sure you update the image with the Erth Chronicles logo and also copyright Erth Chronicles and of course copyright your good self. I shall place a link to this over at the site.
