Description *Edit* Sorry for the repost... But I updated the image. This one has much better contrast.*

This piece is a lot more complex that it looks. It looked really bad when I was finished with it, so I cut off the top at an angle, polished it, and then added a battuto technique to the side.

It's a three hour piece. A cane pickup incalmo switch axis... After I battutoed the sides and cut the top it looked much MUCH better. I quite like it now!

It's about 16" tall

Thanks. I wish I had a picture of it before I chopped the top and put the surface texture on the sides. It really was quite bland.

Very lovely work. This is something I'd really like to learn how to do, though expensive, I'd think.

Yeah glassblowing can be quite pricey. It's generally about $40 an hour to rent studio time. Although it can be signifcantly cheaper in a school setting. I recommend taking full advantage of any opportunities presented to you if you can!

Well thank you. I'll look into it. There's an art center in an area near me where I believe they offer some studio space to people. They've always got classes, so perhaps one day I will.

This is quite a lovely piece. I love the blues, of course, but what especially drew me in was that patterning and stripe of green. My only nitpicky thing is not with the piece, but rather with the image in full view. Its rather large, even for folks using the higher end resolutions. Then again, it does show more detail, I suppose.

Anywho, I love it!

Wow Thanks for the DD! Also, thanks again for letting me know about those file sizes. They have been fixed!

Thanks for the thorough comment. It's nice to hear exactly what people do and don't like about my work. It's good feedback for me. As for the size of the image, you are entirely correct. Sometimes I either forget to resize my images, or accidentally use the larger sized images. Usually I shrink the full views to a maximum of 800 px. Thanks, I hadn't noticed I ued the larger images. There's a few I did that for.

Thanks again.

I didn't understand a fuckin' word you just said!

Needless to say though, I'm still highly envious of your technical skill. Keep it up man.

Hahaha. Thanks man. If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to explain when I get the chance!

Any luck with the galleries?

Welcome.

Haven't sent any slides out yet. Last week I suddenly got a job with a package design company. Toy Fair NY's coming and they're in desperate need of design help. But since they're in crunchtime, I've been working 10hr. days. But it pays well.

What's a sign of a good glass-blowing class?

Talk to the teachers and see if they sound like they know what they're talking about. See some of their work, and see some previous student work if you can... Really it's just about doing it. Mostly try to see their work. IF their work is good, chances are they'll be a pretty good teacher.
