In my opinion it should be in the hands of the woman to decide. Consider this: thousands of unwanted children that are considered burdens. Even saying this I'd doubt I'd ever have an abortion (or maybe it's more appropriate to say "need").

Actually more children are aborted in a year then there are parents waiting for a child. Which would you rather have children waiting and not gaurenteed a home or couples waiting and not gaurenteed a child.
I'd rather gaurentee that child going into the adoption system getting that home.

Not always, most are done before there is a beating heart, but I am sure you've heard all that before. And if it does stop a heart, all well, welcome to the cruel reality of the world.
Truth is, unless the world magically becomes a perfect paradise where nothing bad ever happens and everything is all ice cream and rainbows, abortion will always be needed. Not everyone who becomes pregnant will want to birth it, regardless of how they became pregnant (i.e. consensual sex or not).
I know already, if I became pregnant I would have an abortion, take that right away from me and I will kill myself, there is nothing in this world that could keep me alive and force me though childbirth. :/ Probably the best thing that could be done right now is getting the damn government to provide voluntary and guilt-free sterilization for women like myself who don't want kids.

I know that, but that is with a regular, healthy woman.
If she has past injuries, mental disabilities or medical disabilities she can die. Like if you have diabetes. You need all the nutrients in order to survive, but the fetus takes it, making you weak and you would eventually die. That is when you need to abort.

I don't see it as murder, since the fetus is not human, it is a human fetus, but not exactly human until it is born. It is like saying an egg is a chicken and a seed is a tree.

Well, considering that it's never been proven that it ISN'T alive upon conception, the only other alternative is that it's alive. Even the Congress of the United States of America conceded that it didn't know when life in the womb really began.

I don't find the idea of murdering an innocent who has a shot at making it in life pleasurable or even moral, but I will cede that there are extremely seldom situations in which it is mandatory for the survival of the mother.

It stops a beating heart, but not a thinking brain. It's the brain and consciousness that's important. Not the function of an organ.

So abortion does in fact stop a functioning brain and the fetus is conscious of the abortion. The fetus is not 'thinking' in the general use of the word, but it's brain is still being used.
