Description
The eyes of this beauty unseen,
But a beauty so true,
Once locked my gaze
In a sight so unseen
And possessed by so few.

(Through her eyes, in her soul, I see a beauty that I had never seen before her.)

A hand moves over my eyes,
Nothing but darkness in view,
Let not this
Be the demise
Of the beauty of you.

(A hand covers my own eyes (the windows to my own soul) so that I cannot see her soul any longer. And I ask that hand over my eyes not to cause the death of her beauty.)

The hand that once loved me,
The hand that once graced
My life with compassion,
Once softly touched me
And dried the tears from my face.

Has left the light of the skies
In a dark, obscured haze
And has now covered
From my lonesome eyes
Your soft, loving gaze.

(I realize that it is her hand that is covering my eyes, blocking my vision from seeing her love, from seeing her beauty.)

Darkness surrounds—
Only solace in slumber and sleep—
It enshrouds and obscures
Just as it drowns
All hope, in the waters most deep.

(So with the hand over my eyes its completely dark, and I fear that the only way I can escape and see her again is through sleep, because all hope of seeing her in front of me seems lost.)

I beg, part the fingers,
Remove the hand of the form
Giving substance to darkness;
It waits and it lingers
And it comes like a storm.

(I beg her to remove her hand from my eyes, or at least part her fingers, so that I can see past the darkness thats caused by her hand over my eyes. But it still stays there and lingers like a storm.)

And since this hand denies
Sight of your beauty so true,
Left nothing but darkness,
I close my eyes
And dream of you.

(And since I feel her hands will deny me the sight of seeing her real, true beauty, again, I close my eyes, knowing the only way of ever again allowing me to see it, is by dreaming.)

(I hope it will not be like this, in the end. For now this is only a prediction. But it is for her to decide. I'll always know the beauty in her.)
