Description
This is how I think the Pokemon in the 'gender unknown egg group' (or all Pokemon in general) are tricked into breeding with Ditto. If you don't know, Pokemon in this egg group can only breed with Ditto. They can't even breed with their own kind! Just imagine their happiness when they actually produce an egg.ΒAnyway, it's sad that Ditto can't breed with other Dittos.

i always thought breeding a ditto with a ditto would result in a completely randomized, non-legendary, pokemon, why have they not implemented that? it makes sense

The REALLY creepy part for Manaphy comes AFTER the egg; when it hatches in Pheone, which can only be bred from Ditto-Manaphy, but never evolves into a Manaphy itself. Think about that. Breeds with Manaphy, has baby pokemon that is NOT pre-evolved Manaphy.
Whether you want to consider Manaphy a pseudo-legendary, or maybe just not-quite-there yet, it leave the door open to some serious Fridge Horror as the only failed Ditto-breeding.
