Description It's here! I've wanted to make this for a while. I honestly think that teaching others how to make these is the best course of action. If you've ever wanted to know how to make wallpapers like I do, your answers should be here. Do note that what you see here is basically a very basic tutorial, and just goes over the bare minimum basics you'll need to know. This IS subject to change, as I may clarify a few points or update the tutorial if there are other things I feel to be added.

Please be aware of something here: this guide is specifically written to be used with Adobe Illustrator. This is a costly program, but it is also the easiest to use, in my opinion. If you do not want to drop money on this, that's fine - there are plenty of other Vector editing software - one that I hear recommended a lot is Inkscape. But do know that you WILL need to use a Vector Editing software in order to make these wallpapers.

If you have any questions, be sure to ask!

Do you know of a tutorial for GIMP? I don't have AI and I don't want to pirate it.

JUEGZI In reply to Uikri [2019-02-06 15:37:48 +0000 UTC]

you can use inkscape

Lugia-sea In reply to Uikri [2016-05-17 12:17:29 +0000 UTC]

Maybe try Inkscape then?
Though,ย GIMP's pen tool and beizer curves stuff can do it too.

GIMP is better at raster graphics, Inkscape is better for vectors ^^

Are there any alternative programs to use?

LimeCatMastr In reply to CielPhantabulous [2015-10-01 01:05:05 +0000 UTC]

Inkscape is the other one that comes to mind. However, it does work differently and may require a lot of learning.

How come whenever i try doing the "anchor point" things, its always making my selection pure white?

LimeCatMastr In reply to pazukunous [2015-01-22 02:41:15 +0000 UTC]

It does that by default. In the color panel there, there's the box with the red line through it. Click on that and your selection will become transparent, allowing you to use the eyedropper tool to select the color within your shape.

If you to the top, go through Object>Arrange and Send To Back should be an option there.

LimeCatMastr In reply to three-bullets [2014-03-23 14:56:08 +0000 UTC]

Photoshop's tools behave differently, from what I've used of it. Plus, to my knowledge, Photoshop doesn't do vectors, so they won't come out looking the same.

PS user here. Photoshop can also do vector-like drawings. Though, since there aren't a lot of tutorials using Photoshop, I'd follow the steps given by
