Quote from the end of "Mewtwo Returns". I absolutely adore... and utterly detest that movie.... for certain reasons. Even though some certain fans who will not be named (
) do worse things to my dear lov- I mean Mewtwo, in their stories, I can actually SEE it in front of me in the movies, instead of attempting to picture the scene in my head, which I often unconsciously manipulate to make it seem less... painful.Urban backgrounds... the bane of my life. Same thing with (DUN DUN DUN!) ....Perspective. (I think I just gave up on the windows halfway through the background.)

So... I think you require an explanation. Um.... this was supposed to be a sketch/ practice for drawing Mewtwo from this angle/ perspective practice, but I kinda got a little too caught up in it. So... this is the effect of all of that.
And since I could think of a title that didn't sound like a wackadoo load of cheesiness, I used a "quote" from *hem* a certain movie. Which sounded too peaceful for this scene. I'm still happy(ish) with the result, though. ^-^

Hate: It has to do with his...er... excruciatingly painful near-death experience. I kind of detest the movie creators for hurting Mewtwo so much in his movies, both emotionally and physically.

The Pokemon fandom seems more than willing to do things to him that make his experience in Mewtwo Returns seem absolutely tame in comparison.
I'm actually more concerned with those sorts of things than him going through that in Returns. Even in the manga, where Pokemon have truly been killed, it doesn't seem like there's any suggestion that Mewtwo would be dealt such a fate.
Between the good and the bad, Mewtwo Returns was still very much needed, specifically to correct character flaws that never should have come into existence due to the bastardization of the first movie (seriously, check out the japanese version with subtitles. There's a pretty big difference in how Mewtwo's portrayed.)
You want to detest someone involved in canon works that involve Mewtwo? The people behind Brawl, that saw fit to cut him from the roster of playable characters, are a much more worthy target of your ire. Right now, things are looking up for Mewtwo though - he's gotten some appearances that make him look good lately...he was portrayed well in Pokemon Conquest, he had a TCG set dedicated to him recently (and his EX card in that set pretty much ran ripshaw over official tournaments for a good while, and Mewtwo EX was still present in multiples in every single championship deck being sold this year.) He's also getting new merch, and even the bootleggers are seeing fit to make Mewtwo merch, a clear sign of popularity.
Anyawy...yeah, getting off-track. tl;dr; What Mewtwo endured in Returns is probably the least of my worries compared to a lot of other things.

Although, I still don't quite understand why some Mewtwo fans hate Lucario so much for "replacing" him in brawl... I DO understand that Mewtwo wasn't exactly living up to his name in Meelee, but that doesn't mean that he should be cut from brawl, it means that he should have been revamped or something...

Perhaps because people were just dismissing his character once they realised he was too light/floaty and easy to kill. It actually gets on my nerves big time to hear people say that his character sucks, because if used correctly he's one of the best in the game, despite being low tier. TAJ was the reason WHY Mewtwo moved up in the tier list.
I've been maining the cat for three years on Melee, and I've actually had somebody call my Mewtwo a 'beast' at a small get together where Smash Bros was an available game. That pretty much made my night. A lot of the people here weren't aware that Mewtwo can do a lot of unique things in the game, so it's fun surprising them with that. If you can master all his shffl's and even edgeguarding, he is a true badass indeed. It blows peoples minds when you can make him go under stages as well.
TAJ was the reason I decided to main Mewtwo in Melee. I would love to meet him one day.

I'm sorry, I do not own Melee, my friend does. I only occasionally go over to his house to play him in a few rounds. So forgive me for making assumptions, I go off of what my friend tells me, and as you probably know, that is in human nature. To follow the word of someone else, even though you may have no experience in that area...

You're a Mewtwo fan, right? So am I. A pretty big one in fact, so yes I do look at your artwork. There are quite a few of us Mewtwo fans around.
Nothing about your comment was getting on my nerves. What makes you assume that? When I said it gets on my nerves that people say he sucks, I was saying it in general. You never said he sucks. You just said about him not living up to expectations. Because I've heard a lot of people say that he sucks. And call him pathetic, and I know damn well for sure he isn't. People just don't want to bother with him or give him a chance.
You don't own Melee? I sought to get it as soon as I found out Mewtwo was in it. That was back when I first got into him. He's a lot of hard work, but once you can use him to his full potential in the game, he's nothing short of amazing. Mew2King and Taj really prove that, although Mew2King is one of the best Melee players in the world.
I love him to death, so I'll defend him where I can. :]

I would have bought Melee as soon as possible... apart from the fact that it is over $150 currently. And since I am not of the age to have a job and make my own money, I can't exactly find a way to buy it for myself.... and there is NO way my parents would by me it. I don't exactly enjoy pleading.
I do have brawl, though. And Lucario...
I still don't understand why some Mewtwo fans detest Lucario so much, just because he technically replaced Mewtwo in brawl. They are both two amazing characters, Mewtwo, ah, even more so. I would like to have your opinion on this topic, as I find what you believe rather interesting... If I don't sound too creepy, that is.

I love Lucario. I will admit I hated him before I got to know him. At first I thought he replaced Mewtwo, but then I realised that he didn't. They just didn't have time to fit Mewtwo in the game. Some of his data has actually been found in the game (sound files and such.) I don't agree with how so many people start so many fights over Lucario and Mewtwo. I find it horrible that people go as far as to draw art of Mewtwo decapitating Lucario, or Lucario beating up Mewtwo. It hurts, because I love both Pokemon (Mewtwo more than Lucario though 
$150 for Melee? Wow...D: Hopefully one day you will get it.

When I search for pics of Mewtwo and Lucario, the top things that pop up are either from Mewtwo fans/Lucario haters, or the other way around, which only proves your point. The other top things are... things that will not be mentioned.

I see what you mean. I often see those pictures pop up when I run a search. When I first joined as metros2soul, I actually did a picture about Mewtwo and Lucario. Back then I was annoyed at the fact Lucario was in Brawl and Mewtwo wasn't, so looking back at it now it's such a cheesy picture lol. But I don't agree, as I said before, about the Pokemon being killed. People shouldn't start wars over something so trivial. Sure, it was a bit of a blow to us Mewtwo fans, but at the end of the day, Lucario is a great characters as well.
It came out for me when I was 11 lol. 2001, was it? Back then, I wasn't into it though. I only recently got into Melee. In fact, it was because of Mewtwo that I started playing Melee. I thank the kitty for a lot of things

My story is a bit different, but when you say to me that you love Mewtwo, I believe you because I feel that way as well.
Basically, I first saw the First Pokemon Movie when I was about 7. I don't remember whether or not I saw it at the movies when it first came out, but I do remember how big it was here. I do remember one night sitting at home in the lounge room watching it though, because I distinctively remember the part with Mew floating up in the bubble. That part stuck with me for years.
Then when I was 18 back in 2008, I was sitting watching television one night out of boredom. My mum was watching TV in the other room so I had that television to myself. I was flicking through the channels, then stopped and watched some Cartoon Network. There was an advertisement saying that The First Pokemon Movie would be on next, and I had nothing better to do so I decided to stick around and watch it, having not seen it in years. I wanted to see the part with Mew again (actually I wanted to watch it to see Mew again) but Mewtwo stood out to me more than anything. I fell for his story.
When it finished, I was in a slight state of shock. I rushed to my laptop and started looking up Mewtwo. I found out about Mewtwo Returns and watched it on the same night online. I sought to find the DVD, and found it in a newspaper advertisment about a week or so later at a local DVD retailer. After that, I started drawing Mewtwo and joined deviantART. Not long after that, I found out about Smash Bros, and how he was in it after seeing some videos of him on YouTube so I asked dad if we could get a Wii after finding out they play Gamecube games. I actually got the game from eBay first, but had nothing to play it on until I got the Wii. But I had my first stroke of luck here. I didn't think you could play the game without a memory card, so I started playing Brawl first. We went to a second hand dealer the following day because by the time we got the Wii the stores were closing. I found an orange Gamecube controller in there as well as a memory card. When I put in the memory card when I got home, I was in shock and thinking I was doing something wrong because all the characters inc. Mewtwo were available. I thought I would have to play the game for a while first to unlock them, but that wasn't the case. Turns out the memory card was owned by somebody that HAD Smash Bros Melee and had all the characters unlocked. So that was my first stroke of luck.
My second stroke of luck was in Ireland. I really wanted a Mewtwo Lvl X tin that I'd seen online, but we didn't have them here in Australia yet. I happened to see one in a shop sitting on a pile of other tins and it was the ONLY Mewtwo one left. It was fifteen euro and I had that amount exactly left, which was amazing. So I waited in line for about twenty minutes to get it. But I got it.
I was well into Mewtwo by now, and doing more drawings and such. I started my fanfiction. Then my second stroke of luck game about a year later. I had never got Mewtwo or played the Pokemon games growing up. So I got leafgreen off eBay to catch him. Only, I was upset because I got ripped off and the game was a dud. But then, I went to my local EB Games in the plaza and explained my situation. A girl overheard me talking and told me they had an old copy of Leafgreen in the sink out the back, and if it wasn't waterlogged and worked I could have it for free. So, I tried it and it worked. I got the game, and the person that had already played it before had already done about 60 hours worth of game time and had all the legendary birds. I was thrilled. My best friend helped me get Mewtwo one night on msn for six hours. That was amazing.
I've had a lot of luck since being in the Mewtwo fandom. I never thought I'd get the chance to enter as Smash Bros Tournament, but when I first met my boyfriend he blew me away when he told me that he was #1 at Smash Bros Brawl in my state. Thanks to him, I've been able to actually get into that field and meet other players. On Saturday I'm going to my second tournament, so I'm looking forward to that.
Unfortunalty, I was out of Mewtwo for a while after finding out about Invader Zim. That was about a year. I was lucky to travel over to America this year and attend a convention based on Invader Zim, and I got to meet the voice actors. That was the best time of my life. Now however, I'm well back into the Pokemon fandom and Mewtwo.
I do a lot of Mewtwo RP's with my best friends, and I met my best friends through Mewtwo. So I have a lot to thank him for even if he is just an animated character. He means a lot to me.
