Description
This was actually drawn by my friend Nik Ronis, who doesn't have an account here so it's not like I can link you to him. I inked and colored it. He drew it kinda as a gift for hitting the 10K mark, as well a character design for a project we're *trying* to hammer out, involving a deaf girl and a white rapper.I like working on his stuff. It allows me a real chance to get experimental with a variety of techniques that I can't do with my own stuff, if that makes any sense. And seeing how his style kind of compliments my own (which would make sense, since we pretty much were an art studio in college) I can later see if I can translate the techniques to my own stuff.
Oh yeah... What's the deal with the doughnuts?
It's a fat joke at my expense. I don't think he's referred to me by my real name in four years. *rolls eyes*
Anywho, hope you like.

Here's the story with her tattoo.
Back in my early college days, Janine here was one of my earliest characters. She was a little more (okay a lot more) Punk Goth and she had the bottom part of the tattoo actually tattooed under her left eye. (This was of course my stupidity in not realizing that it's highly unlikely that someone would actually go get themselves tattooed on the facial area like that with that large of a tattoo, without being a serious hardcore MF. I was young... What can I say?)
The character was kinda put onto the backburner a bit and went through a lot of changes, but the tattoo, with the Egyptian eye thing was a throwback to the earlier design. Of course I wanted it on the shoulder... But I guess with NIk being the artist here, he went for waist.
Damn artists.

I think it works so well with what you've got going on. I'm not a tattoo artist and I don't think I could have the courage to get one, not with my professional career as an office administrator. But, I always like the ones I've seen around here. A few of my characters have them to make themselves stand out.
Thanks for taking the time out and explaining the history behind the tatoo out.

Great work there. Love the expression on her face while presenting the doughnuts. Though, I'm curious to the tatoo ... Egyptian inspired work?
