It's sad that this actually happened in psychiatric hospitals in the past. Apparently the cold water that was blasted on the patient was to "shock" the mental sickness out of them... A lot of medical staff, doctors were sent to prison and most of the hospitals were closed down since then because of the torture that they placed on the patients.

Back before we realized that the things they were doing were not conscious decisions. They used to believe that people chose to behave like this. Β Much like how some people believe that gays chose their lifestyle. Β

UGH how stupid can people get ugh I think "we" need to try again like something destroys the earth and the life cycle starts all over again but I think "we" would make the same mistakesΒ

Unfortunatly it's not all stupidity. The majority is ignorance. Β Remember that people used to think the earth was flat, or that the sound barrier could never be broken, and even that the sun orbited the earth. And not 80 years ago, there were surgeons smoking cigars during operations. All because they didn't know any better.
They used these methods to try to get through to the patents somehow, and see if they could break them of their madness. Was it right? Not by a longshot. Β And there were doctors like this, that thought of the patients as nothing more than little puppets. Β And those people I don't consider to be realΒ doctors, because they broke the one thing that true doctors hold sacred. The Hippocratic oath. Β But thankfully we've learned from our mistakes and are handling things properly now.
And history always repeats itself, even without a reboot. Β Look at the United States, it seems to be doing the same things the Roman empire did. And we all know what happened there.
