Description
This pic is a combination of two stock photos I found. The beautiful model is ~pandora-stock found at [link] The picture of the graveyard comes from ~aeiou-stock and can be found [link]I made this pic mostly by doing a cutout of the model and then sizing her up to the gravestone. (It seems like a huge gravestone to me but apparently its actually that big judging by the proportions in the graveyard stock photo.) I dropped shadow off of the model to make the effect of her standing in front of the gravestone more realistic. The chains were "hand" drawn by me with a texture applied as well as a bevel/emboss to give them a more three-dimensional look.
I used PS 6 for all parts of this. All comments on my methods or anything else are greatly appreciated.
Thanks and enjoy!

not bad buddy, the shadow on the chick kinda dosn't fit on the tombstone. and i think the model and tombstone are too bright for the bg. but nice work on the chick on the tombstone. and nice idea

Thanks for the comment. I made it darker and adjusted the contrast some more as well. As far as the shadow, without it she looked like she was glued to the tombstone so I had to put it there.

Hmmm. I think its better, but the foreground (tombstone and girl) looks like day and the background is night time. For the atmosphere, I'd go for making both night time.

Yeah, I agree with you, but you ought to check out the stock photo of the graveyard. The tombstone looks like that to begin with. I'm was surprised myself with its brightness when I saw the stock photo, but it was the best one I could find after looking for 30 min or so (I figured I would go with the best I could find) Thanks for the comments as always! I might look into trying to dim the foreground some other way sooner or later, but I'll probably just move on to the burning hotel idea I'm working on now

Ok, I adjusted the contrast/brightness again and I think I got it this time. I also played around with the idea of a blue tint since the background is so blue, but all of my attempts made it look very contrived and I'm trying to get a realistic appearance. I also worked on her shirt some. (The part that covered her belly was drawn by me and it was too wrinkly so I smoothed it out. In the original stock her belly was visible but I thought that she looked too cold so I gave her a little more fabric on her belly)

Did you change the tint of the background or the foreground? I still think the foreground is very un-blue, kinda clashing...
I see the smoothing you did, probably using the smudge tool. I'd recommend the clone tool instead though, to retain the texture of the shirt- people can tell you smudged it.

Well, I never actually cut the tombstone out of the picture, it was that bright in the stock photo. I adjusted the contrast/brightness of the image as a whole. As far as the shirt goes, I first used the stamp tool, and it didn't look right and then I used the blur tool.

It looks pretty seemless, and the idea is really cool.
I'd like more contrast tho.

What do you mean by you'd like more contrast? Between the model and the gravestone or the background or what?
