SPEEDPAINT HERE: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYh9pe…Hello deviantart!!! I've sure been gone awhile, haven't I ;v;
I decided to go through and redesign some of my old designs for my ANCIENT fanclan, SeaClan! I've posted art of SeaClan before, though it's very very old now
Here's some info on the Clan and the cats if you're curious!!!
SeaClan’s Founding:
What becomes of the StarClan cats whom no one remembers? Well, they simply fade away, never to be seen or thought of again.
There are some StarClan cats who reject this fate for themselves, and have split off from their home of the four Clans to become the founders of a new Clan, all so that they can be remembered and celebrated as they weren’t in life.
This band of StarClan cats eventually settled upon the skies above a massive beach, and entered the dreams of a young ambitious molly, Shiela. The StarClan cats renamed her Seashell, and gave her the task of creating a Clan under their divine wisdom. This is how SeaClan came to be.
Without other Clans to antagonize them, SeaClan lives a mostly peaceful life, except for the occasional weather issues, sea creatures, and rogues with the intention of raiding. Despite this, SeaClan actually has a decent relationship with rogues and kittypets; after all, how else will they build their ranks? It’s not uncommon for a rogue or former kittypet to ask to join SeaClan, though most of them just leave kits on the border of SeaClan since they know they’ll be raised in relative safety there.
ANYWAYS ONTO THE CHARACTERS:
Rainstar - Old enough to be an elder, Rainstar is a stern but fair leader who led SeaClan through many a troubling time. Earlier in her life, miscommunication caused her to believe that her and Scorchwind were mates, when in reality, it was just a fling on his end, and a complicated kitting led to her only surviving kit, Ravenshore.She may hold a grudge, but no cat can doubt that she’s a brilliant leader.
Silverwave - The former deputy of Seaclan, Turtlestorm, was an admirable warrior, and mighty paws for Silverwave to fill. He may be a bit young for his position, but his gentle nature is a great balance to Rainstar’s firmness. The only thing that Silverwave loves more than SeaClan is his daughter, Tidalpaw, though he’s also close to his parents, Scorchwind and Cloudyclaw, and his littermate Windfur.
Pumpkin - SeaClan has an amicable relationship with rogues and kittypets, but that doesn’t mean that they trust non-Clan cats in the sacred position of medicine cat. However, when the former medicine cat Gullwhisker suddenly passed away without an apprentice, and former kittypet Pumpkin stumbled into camp with vast knowledge on herbs, SeaClan was left without much choice. Pumpkin is scorned by many of her Clanmates, and she struggles to not let it bother her, as she knows how much they need her.
Splashwing and Hawkseed - Formerly rogues known as Derby and Melvin, these muscular and scarred warriors terrified SeaClan when they first approached; however, when they explained that they were expecting kits and wanted safety, SeaClan accepted them. Despite their many moons living in SeaClan, Splashwing and Hawkseed find it difficult to socialize with anyone outside themselves or their children, Sunstorm and Thunderheart. Technically, they’re old enough to retire to the elders den, but no cat thinks they’d do it.
Quicksteam - A friendly molly, Quickstream never had the desire for a mate. However, she was the last living survivor of the Clan’s founder, Seashell, and the family legacy was important to her. So, she met with a passing rogue and had three kits; Dawnshell, Saltbreeze, and Fishwhisker.
Briarberry - From kithood to her warrior ceremony, Briarberry had been certain that she and Duskthorn would be the closest of mates. However, his heart led him down a different path, so Briarberry chose her own path as well. She would have two kits with a friendly rogue, Pebblepelt and Minnowclaw, and lives happily as a senior warrior.
Duskthorn - He had truly been in love with Briarberry, but Duskthorn’s heart was always uneasy. Before he and Briarberry officially became mates, he wanted to experience freedom; which he did with a molly outside of SeaClan, which resulted in the birth of Foamfoot and Clamstripe. Then, when he and Briarberry were on the verge of becoming mates again, he had a fling with another molly outside SeaClan, this time resulting in Pearlfern and Brightcurrent. By this time, Briarberry no longer gave Duskthorn any chances to be her mate, and his heart is left unfulfilled still.
Sunstorm - Unlike his parents, Splashwing and Hawkseed, and his littermate Thunderheart, Sunstorm is a very social and popular warrior in SeaClan. He’s so charming that he immediately won Windfur’s heart, and now the two of them are expecting kits. There are some who believe that he should’ve been made deputy instead of Silverwave, but Sunstorm never comments on it.
Thunderheart - A shark attack at the end of her apprenticeship left Thunderheart physically and emotionally scarred. A once wise-cracking and goofy gal, Thunderheart became withdrawn and cryptic and lacks many strong bonds in SeaClan. Some cats speculate that due to her near death experience, she had briefly walked in StarClan and perhaps learned something that she shouldn’t have, causing her change in personality.
Purplestorm and Pinknose - These two littermates had been left at the border of SeaClan as kits, and SeaClan has been their home since. Purplestorm is crafty and sneaky, and close friends with other similarly gossip-driven mollies Dawnshell and Ravenshore. Pinknose, on the other hand, cares less about such things, and is more interested in winning the affections of Fishwhisker.
Fishwhisker - Some cats wonder how an awkward cat such as Fishwhisker could be the child of Quickstream, or her graceful littermates Dawnshell and Saltbreeze. Even more baffling is how the extremely elegant Pinknose has such strong feelings for her… or how Fishwhisker has yet to notice. A clumsy, socially awkward mess, Fishwhisker is truly trying her best.
Dawnshell - All sources of gossip and rumors can be somehow linked back to Dawnshell. She shrives in stirring drama and causing mischief, especially with the assistance of her cronies Purplestorm and Ravenshore. Getting on her bad side is definitely a mistake.
Saltbreeze - This agender kitty is most like their mother, being a very chill but friendly cat who tries to avoid their sisters’ drama. They had been offered the deputy position when former deputy Turtlestorm passed away, but they turned it down, opting to live a warrior life without such a heavy responsibility.
Ravenshore - Much like her mother Rainstar (and unlike her father Scorchwind), Ravenshore is a cool, calm, calculated kitty who looks as though she’s always judging those around her. It wouldn’t be hard to assume so, as she keeps company with local troublemakers Dawnshell and Purplestorm. What cats don’t know, though, is that the only reason that Ravenshore hangs out with them is because of her crush on Dawnshell.
Foamfoot and Clamstripe - The first litter of Duskthorn’s, they’re both very efficient and reliable warriors. Just your typical, run of the mill warriors.
Pearlfern and Brightcurrent - The second litter of Duckthorn’s, these two couldn’t be more different. Despite her small stature, Pearlfern is a force to be reckoned with, and many cats joke that she’s the clan’s second deputy. Brightcurrent, however, is a wisecracking goofball who loves to get on his sister’s nerves, and some cats question why and how he got an apprentice before his sister.
Minnowclaw - Son of Briarberry. Minnowclaw once had feelings for former deputy Turtlestorm, but his littermate, Pebblepelt, was also clearly in love with him, so Minnowclaw took a step back so that his sister could be happy, though that happiness was short lived upon Turtlestorm’s tragic death. Minnowclaw now focuses on taking care of Pebblepelt, and Pebblepelt and Turtlestorm’s first litter, Shiningpaw and Sharkpaw, the latter of whom is Minnowclaw’s apprentice.
Poppyshade - Dropped off at SeaClan as a kit, Poppyshade enjoys his days being your typical warrior. Let’s face it, every clan needs its Thornclaw, and Poppyshade is SeaClan’s.
Mintflower and Sandfeather - These two brothers have only just become warriors. Mintflower is enjoying his youth and flirting with newcomer, Squidface. Sandflower takes himself more seriously, and tries acting like a senior warrior already, and only lets his guard down for his grandmother, Stormbird.
Squidface - This handsome boy showed up around SeaClan when he was the age of a young apprentice, and trained alongside Mintpaw and Sandpaw. He doesn’t take Clan life too seriously, and still fails to grasp why so many cats do. However, he sticks around because it’s easier than living alone… and also Mintflower is kind of cute.
Windfur - Daughter of Scorchwind and Cloudyclaw, and littermate of Silverwave, Windfur was always a lackadaisical and scatterbrained young lady. She also fell head over paws for Sunstorm, and together, they have Redkit, Rosekit, and Whitekit. Windfur adores being a queen, and knows that she’ll want to stay in the nursery den even when her kits are apprentices. She had also once been apart of the gossip group of Dawnshell, Purplestorm, and Ravenshore, but Windfur found them to be too malicious and stopped talking to them.
Pebblepelt - She had considered herself the luckiest cat in the world when Turtlestorm agreed to be her mate, only for her heart to be ripped apart upon his sudden death. However, Pebblepelt finds solace in knowing that she’s helping to continue Turtlestorm’s legacy; not only with their first litter, consisting of Sharkpaw and Shiningpaw, but also Turtlestorm’s second litter, which she is currently expecting.
Tidalpaw - One wouldn’t suspect that she was the child of the deputy, considering how impulsive and carefree she is. Some could even compare Tidalpaw’s scatterbrained nature to her aunt, Windfur. Not even her serious, grouchy mentor Thunderheart can keep a grin off Tidalpaw’s face. She’s just looking for fun!
Shiningpaw and Sharkpaw - These two siblings grew up on stories of their father, Turtlestorm, especially from their mother, Pebblepelt. Sometimes the weight of their father’s reputation weighs them down, but their silly friend Tidalpaw is a good distraction from these feelings. The two get along well with each other, though Shiningpaw has a warmer heart than her sharp tongued brother. An example of this is how Shiningpaw thinks that it’s sweet that Sharkpaw’s mentor, Minnowclaw, keeps insisting that she and Sharkpaw train together so that he can hang out with her mentor, Brightcurrent, who Minnowclaw totally has a crush on. Sharkpaw, on the other hand, finds this super gross.
Scorchwind - Once a carefree and flirty tomcat, Scorchwind was struck with the desire to have a legacy when grey furs started popping up around his muzzle. He had a casual fling with both Cloudyclaw and Rainstar, though the latter believed that it was more than casual, and thus broke her heart. However, he got what he wanted, when Cloudyclaw had Silverwave and Windfur, and Rainstar had Ravenshore.
Cloudyclaw - Without opposing clans to fight, there isn’t a great need for powerful fighters; that never stopped Cloudyclaw, who was the strongest and fierce warrior in her prime. She sent many a malicious rogue running, and helped improve upon battle training. Now, Cloudyclaw lives out her days peacefully as an elder, and spends her time bonding with her kits Silverwave and Windfur, and her grandkits Tidalpaw, Redkit, Rosekit, and Whitekit. Her favorite activity is sharing dramatized versions of former battles and trials SeaClan has faced.
Stormbird - Despite being such a happy elder, Stormbird had a life of heartbreak. She once had a mate, Nightsky, who died of sickness when their medicine cat daughter, Gullwhisker, was barely an apprentice. Moons later, Gullwhisker brought two kits to camp, claiming that she found them on the border. However, many cats noticed that the kits looked a lot like her, and realized that she had broken the medicine cat code by having kits. Terrified of retribution, Gullwhisker ran from camp, and by the time they found her, she had been struck by a monster. Stormbird took in her daughter’s kits, who would later be named Mintflower and Sandfeather, and continues to dote upon them.

I really love your art style, its like sorta cartoony and it makes each character look unique as they all have different silhouettes. I really enjoyed reading about your past four clans oak, pine, elm and mapleclan. If this is becomes a project that has even half as much though as the past clans im excited to learn more about them. I really like how much thought you put into these things, im making my own few clans and I have to admit avoiding inbreeding is a pain, you clan accepting kittypets/rogues must make it easier which I bet is a relief plus doing so can let in so many pretty pelt colours.

Aaa thank you so much!!! <3 <3 <3 ;v;
on the accepting kittypets/roges note, yea I've learned that it really is easier to just have fanclans accept outsiders under some training because of, well what you said, inbreeding is bad and there's so much potential for unique coats ^^
