Description Here's I study I started last month for a painting I hope to finish before the end of January. Wanna kick off 2018 right and come out swinging!

I saw a photo of an athlete lifting a barbell and realized I had to do an image of one of Lioness' fighters training. Plus, I wanted another opportunity to work on an industrial interior space (and hopefully to paint it better!)

I love hearing your comments and feedback, so let me know what you think!

Oh man, they made equipment to their scale instead of just letting them use things like ships for weight training. What a bummer. Heh...bum.
Guess they can still blast some good music over the speakers for some gym training feel.

Here's an excerpt from the treatment I wrote of the story (and actually just finished the first draft of on December 31st!) to assuage you:

From the car, Lillian is relieved to see Lioness headquarters poke out over the horizon and grow steadily nearer; finally something to break up the miles and miles of undeveloped countryside radiating out in all directions. Soon the car enters the compound and is towered over by the severe buildings of the main yard, buildings that are themselves utterly dwarfed by the concrete and steel monolith that is two-hundred-ten-foot-tall Melinda Wells’ permanent residence and recovery ward. Beyond, Lillian eyes the so-called shipyard, where derelict naval vessels, supersized free weights, lay waiting to aid in Melinda’s continued training.

I can pretty much guarantee if they're pumping iron they're blasting some tunes!

maestro,
it is visually similar to your prior "Death Postponed" image,
so there is continuity there.
the locale sans giant is very 'institute/battle-tech'y, that detail is nice.

if only we could see in your 'artist's vision', analogous to van-gogh vision or picasso-vision etc.
a 'motion-comic', somewhat like rotoscopy,
so as we can explore a more animated variant of your whimsy.
that, or a game in your inimitable style would be at some point pure awesome.
you might be able to AGI-GAH etc, collab, to realizement as much?

the only concrit?
I prefer your works as the moment of the transformations themselves,
which is the more surrealistic rather than the 'forced perspective-esque'
where your physics depict the interaction, that maintain the fantastical-fictional-verisimilitude.
on the physics alone, the rheology is different than say for ReadyArt or BustArtist etc,
which is itself fascinating.

your first-person and foreshortening from PoV is intriguing,
and virtually impossible to find any others doing in the subterrains presently.
(maybe somewhat pandoza intermittently eh).

I definitely had Death Postponed in mind when concepting this one. I was never fully satisfied with the way I handled the industrial elements, so I want to try and do better in this painting.

Thank you so much for the kind words! I think having an animated show or even a film made of my work would be insanely cool. A game too!

Thanks for the feedback too! I try to bounce back and forth between doing stuff like this and other pieces like Not Yet Victorious. I'll have to do one that's more surreal like you're describing soon!

ah! intriguing

so, perhaps also a revisitment to "Growing Pains",
as that seemed an excellent bildungsroman to explore eh?
