Lil Lugnut and Biddy Bulkhead.On a side note, noticed that nobody in animated seems to have a blaster. Boo.
If transformers don't have guns, HOW are they supposed to shoot each other?

The autobots didn't have guns cause Derrick J Wyatt wanted the autobots to be like workers, so he gave them badass weapon used tools, while the deceptions got that crazy military equipment

Sounds like something taken from the original G1 era. Back then the Autobots where descended from a consumer robots line, while the Decepticons from military robots.

wondered that myself. logically, evem the autobots would have weapons. i did admire, however, their amphasis on autbots being cosntructurs nad builders an decepticons destroyers and soldiers.

I honestly like that not every character has a beam weapon. Besides, a robot with a gun it can drop is kinda stupid. That's why I always preferred the decepticons, almost all their weapons are attatched to their bodies.

Well, the Autobots (excluding Bumblebee) have no blasters because they were space bridge maintenance workers. All their attacks are just tools with other uses. Except Prowl. He's a ninja because it's badass.

I for one never liked the idea of them having external weapons... the ones that have the giant transforming robots transforming their weapons as well, their accessories being other parts of them that pop into place... that was always much cooler than the "I have a gun in this shot, I didn't before, now it's gone, a wizard did it, okay?" version, IMO. (Not that Animated is totally without that...)
And I like their having weaponized tools (they are repair workers) instead of the serious artillery you see on the 'Cons, who are built to blow stuff up. Though it's especially sad in Bumblebee's case, as his stingers are pretty useless (good luck trying to weld Starscream to death, 'Bee!) The powers that be say it's deliberate, for that reason (ex-repair workers having tools instead of missiles, that is... I don't think they planned to make Bumblebee's quite so ineffectual. Remember the time he zaps a crane or something thinking it's a Constructicon, and it takes no damage, and the Sparkplug-inspired guy calmly says "dude, why are you whalin' on my truck?")

With each adaptation, the main Autobots/Maximals become less and less warrior-types. It went from just prefering diplomacy, to the crew being scientists, to the crew being mantianence workers.

Well, if you mean blasters as in hand-held firearms then your're right. They don't.
But I kinda like that, I always saw guns as more 'humanised' weapons and prefer TF's with weapons that are actually a part of them, such as Starscream's wrist-mounted null-rays (even the Predator's blaster was different from traditional Human firearm by being shoulder-mounted and automatically activated).

I'm glad to see you have ho heartily excepted the new series, despite the fact that you went for the obvious chin joke, and you totally blew there style thing out of proportions to the painfully ridiculous level, and you grill them on there joke guest villains, and mock their weaponry... on second thought just forget what I said.

I just thought of 2 things.
1. Ben 10 airs around the same time and they have no shortege of lasers.
2. The team were just bridge builders before they came to Earth and not part of the Elite Guard. Besides, the laser thing never came to me when I watched the show and I agree with the stormtrooper aiming of G1.
