Description
So, sometimes it's hard to look back at work from the past, it can be painful. While I might still like some of the "ideas" of the original Ishtar, it definitely falls into the "doesn't hold up" clubSo, nice of someone to pay me to have another stab at it on their dime. A high mounted turret with buckets of depression, and a variable pitch 6 wheel suspension would have this guy literally showing only it's weapons over any terrain. Not that that is a concern in BT, but it sounds nice in my mind

Yes.
Like the original, the commissioner intended this as a Horses' vehicle.

One stray round to the wrong part of that rocket battery and that thank probably doesn't have a head anymore.

Not true. In Battletech there is something called Cellular Ammunition Storage Extension or CASE, its a specially designed box that contains ammo explosions, even live rounds inside the launchers tubes. This vehicle has it built in, so no worrying about turret loss. Also, thats a 20 tube Long Range Missile launcher, fires 20 LRMs over 1000 meters, not rockets.

Really amazing attention to detail. You can totally feel the weight of this beast

Solid design, talked with Sharlin about it already, the autoloading mechanism of the main gun combined with the folding for the LRM is top-notch.
Same goes for the placement of the engine and the automated-myomer-whatever-suspension system.
The command/gunner hatch is also a very interesting feature.

Saw this on Sharlin's profile first. I went ahead and ran some numbers for it, using an XL fusion instead of the fuel cell he put in it. Turns out, this thing ironically benefits from the same thing the original Ishtar does: it has 2 free tons of space. So that's 2 extra tons of ammo, weapons, or armor, depending on what you need. This of course is based on Shar's 60 ton weight versus the original Ishtar's 65 ton weight and of course based on the gear on both tanks, taking into account the most likely amount of protection and stored ordnance.
Nerdity aside, I think this is leaps and bounds better then the original Ishtar and I think I might create some written variants of it, if that's ok.
