I am guessing the Society, as it looks a bit like a Boggart.

Amazing work! Gonna guess that's a heavy laser of some flavour, and as its a quad...gonna say thats a heavy large laser.

Looks like a Plasma Cannon or perhaps an ERPPC, since the IS doesn't use proto's due to the moral applications, can't be a heavy PPC.

Not moral applications, lacking the appropriate technology. There's even a short story in the TechManual (page 77) of an IS company meeting where they discuss how useful it would be to have these machines, who they could sell them to (even with the whole "pilot dead in a few years" thing), etc. The big problem they face is the miniaturization of things like the EI, armor, and HS.

I wound up coming up with rules for IS Protos a few years back. The fluff was that the Capellans had kludged together some (heavy, clunky) controls from a mix of Battle Armor and light 'Mech electronics, using a Gyro to compensate for the lack of VDNI/EI. Between that and the lower quality of IS tech in general, the IS Protos wound up being inferior to Clan Protos by a fair margin, but still usable.

Well yeah there is that, but there is also the moral applications due to the use of EI, which can kill someone not prepared genetically.
A VDNI would be better, but even then that requires major surgery, instead of just a small interface at the brain stem to jack into.

Nice work. Still dubious about how a pilot would/could operate a quad Protomech, but really like the turret looks awesome.

Well a proto pilot is all curled up in the foetal position in the hull and barely aware of whats going on when everything's working, so I think it would be..like...them ordering it to 'crawl' we spend 2 years crawling and its something we can do with ease so that could work.
